On another note, killer guy knew he would have died to Kazuya and ran...only to run into another monster.

@PLaci1982 The original girls apparently fled into a dragon's territory to escape a cannibal-rapist bandit gang. Yeeting their souls right out of their bodies probably seemed like a good idea at the time.

If they get their bodies back in a safe location, they'll probably be pleasantly surprised.

As to the chapter itself - Kazuya's glasses getting cracked is interesting. After all, I'm going to bet he can't get his prescription lenses replaced, so that's a hell of a weak point. He might be able to take a direct hit from a cannon or whatever, but his glasses sure as fuck can't.

Yeah, in hindsight, what was the point of that? Give them a scare for some personal drama, then forget it one chapter later?

On the other hand, I do prefer this turn of the story. It gives the protagonists a clear long-term goal.

I wonder why ritual has a requirement to go many places to make it works. Sending souls in another world seems to be strange purpose.

I would understand if it was just ritual to make people feel peaceful. But, its requirement is pretty hassle for that.
