You'll be absolutely wrong; everyone does, but normal people have inhibitors called a conscience and principles that guide their actual actions. Artificially remove people's inhibitors (like excessive alcohol) and they will be completely different people.

She got manipulated and tortured from childhood by her own father and an actual god. Kids don't get to choose who raises them or what they're taught is right. Someone groomed from birth isn't the same as an adult who had options and chose cruelty anyway. Monsters aren't born, they're made.

Nah, people are free to complain. I just think it's silly that after a flashback longer than any story arc in the manga so far people still think it's somehow a trick or an illusion.

Yeah that was a crazy cliffhanger to end on before this insanely long flashback arc. You just know it's going to be horrifically bad when we get back to current events.
