This. I'm really kinda hoping its an actual redemption arc. I mean we've all pretty much rooted for her downfall. If this really was the result of possession by a shitty god... and she did it to save his life, I'd be willing to forgive. I mean Raoul has enacted a pretty lengthy punishment so far. I feel that might be enough atonement for her crimes, especially seeing as she might have had little control over it.

There got to be a reason why raol even kept her alive he probably knows the gods were involved.

Is it really redemption? If it's going the way we think it's going it's less so redemption more so another reason for Raoul to hate the gods. Like if it is revealed that we saw a mind controlled by a god Victoria is not responsible for her actions unless you think her bargaining to save his life was a bad thing.
Like that's not really redemption it's an explanation.

Knowing how sadistic this manga is the god probably removed the mind control during her period of endless torture which would explain why she's suddenly madly in love with Raoul because the haze would be gone.

I mean, don't get me wrong : I LOVE the current Leon but it breaks my heart to see how Lil Bro used to try to stay clean in a word of shit and, sadly, in the end, we all know he will be permanently stained by it... !!

I also agree that the Flashback arc really introduced a loophole as Raoul somehow managed to display some Sherlock Holmes-tier of deduction as a kid, but couldn't foresaw the betrayal from his party and the general as an adult…?

I guess the Gods really did something to him as well.

Also I kind of feel even more bad for Valentine (Victoria's mom). She tried to protect her kid even as a ghost, but wasn't able to stop making her that pact.
