If the author just got rid of the random goofy/quirky nonsense they've thrown in here and there, this woulda been a fantastic beginning of a story. Now, its evaluation is more along the lines of: it's fun enough, but super dumb.
I'd like to believe that Evil Eye had a very narrow window of joining the ensemble, but simply missed it; rather than his obliteration being a foregone conclusion.
I'm sorry but I can't help but imagine there was somehow a chain of events caused by Spongebob and Patrick and Squidward's house ended up as being that guardian's head (and Squidward is still inside of course)
