Sometimes those take several pages in row, it makes browsing unnecessary tedious.
Not staff, so this isn't an official answer, but....Are the official publishers allowed to upload links to chapters which are behind a paywall?
To refine @Angry_Panda 's comment further, staff are allowed to create links to whatever they want, because they are staffAre the official publishers allowed to upload links to chapters which are behind a paywall?
Well even if its against site rules, what’re you gonna do? Delete the chapters to piss them off more? Are the official publishers allowed to upload links to chapters which are behind a paywall?
E.g. https://mangadex.org/title/18cee764...-ga-joban-no-machi-de-kurasu-youna-monogatari chapters 2.1 and 2.2 show behind a paywall
why would you block mangaplus? They're not breaking the rules, they're freeofficial publishers to block

The official publishers aren't asking for this. It's the MD staff doing it on their own initiative.Well even if its against site rules, what’re you gonna do? Delete the chapters to piss them off more?
I'd block them just for this ChaptGPT-ass description:why would you block mangaplus? They're not breaking the rules, they're free
Although that's probably from Mangadex staff, which is even worse honestly. Then again, MD keeps "accidentally" putting up ads for AI slop services so I guess I shouldn't be surprised.Group Description

I don't think it's about the rules. If you block them, they stop showing up in the latest updates, so blocking all the publishers the update bot is spamming can make the site a bit more usable while we wait for the bot to stop freaking out.why would you block mangaplus? They're not breaking the rules, they're free
From what I see, it's multiple crawlers/bots that mangadex devs made to automatically grab the links of available chapters from the official publishers (like how each manga has a link to the official raw/official english sites). Sometimes mangaplus do promotions where they'll offer more chapters or an entire series for free for a limited time - these bots are probably trying to capture those as well. Looks like they have deployed them with bugs/user experience problems that they need to work through thoughYeah im not sure why mangaplus is spamming chapters because only the first 3 are available for free, but if youre paying for mangaplus, youre probably not checking for new chapters on mangadex, I dont get it
Note: MangaPlus is not endorsing MangaDex in any way. These outgoing links are an initiative by MangaDex, and MangaPlus has no influence or control over this group or the links.
You told me that?@BossDeliveryWormAtWormfodderDeliveryService
Remember when I told you that regular manga thread users are too dumb to use the forums?
Well, this thread shows that in action. Some of the people who commented here have had accounts for years, and they still didn't know you could just block groups.
You really think making new fancy pancy forum options is worth it for 3 peeps who know how to use it on CCT?
I may be confusing you with someone else probably, happens a lot.You told me that?
Dunno, don't remember having such a conversation
LOL, just @ me next time, bro....

Don't worry, I include myself too among the dum dums.LOL, just @ me next time, bro.
I mean, I kinda, dimly remembered there was a way, but I forgot how.
Are you saying you plan to add 34000 more of these useless links ?As @Angry_Panda already pointed out, that might not really be a good idea...
The reason being this one:

And well, thankfully at the current rate, the ETA for all the outlinks to be added is September 25 instead of 2030 like the initial ETA (will definitely need slightly more time as more chapters get fetched from the official publisher platforms)
...pretty sure both the database and the dev team would catch fire if that was attempted. Along with the wailing and gnashing of teeth. As an alternative, would be it be possible to do one massive dump? Basically the whole "rip off the bandaid at once" approach? Sure there would be some gnashing of teeth but I doubt the rage would be worse than what we're already seeing and would pass in the usual couple of days, rather than the entire month that we're looking at.
The reason Barto set a bot to do it every minute or so is not known (well, I know he likes to automatise things, but that's beside the point), but if they dumped those five digit chapter links all at once anyone would have 100 pages of useless latest updates. I know they want to have as much as they can, but doing this kind of "analogue" changes eight years late (same for romanisation stuff, for one) would mean death in any serious business. As an alternative, would be it be possible to do one massive dump?
