The previous chapter shows that the starmen designers had been resetting the world to avoid the "worst possible future", which is humanity ending from the gray at the end of 2026, but they had given up after failing so many times. Finally achieving this timeline that continued to the following year is a miracle to the starmen designers, who are narrating that page. They're also the Moomin-like guys that approached Hama.

Genuinely one of the best endings in a manga I've seen in a while. Really great cap to finish things off, loved it. Every single bit of it was so fully in character and it was way happier than you'd ever expect from a series like this. Several years of buildup of humanity's total helplessness in the face of these beings beyond comprehension that just annihilate us for no reason we can understand, without knowing it's even happening, all to be capped off with this is just great. Thanks to everybody who contributed in translating this, this manga always had a special place for me and seeing it end like this just made me so happy. From previous chap with what Yume talked with Designer/Star-face-man, Gray wasn't over the top world destroying in the first place, however one Gray somehow manage to stay alive for so long it directly or indirectly causing every other grays to become more powerful.
While stopping said "starter" gray ended up not really wipe out Gray entirely, it still helps to manage them to stay in manageable level.
Despite everything, I guess in technical sense, Yume truly become the "strongest gray" keeping her power to pretty high level (not as peak as Post-Hama-Assassinated arc, but who would like that to happen?)

In the end Yume managed to complain about how bad the humanity-destroying monsters stank so many times that the Designers issued a patch for the world that absolutely nerfed them into borderline powerlessness. The moral of the story is that when things are imba you should air your grievances early and often; sometimes you'll end up pleasantly surprised.

Loved every chapter, loved the ending, love the author and scanlators for bringing us here.

Now to wait for the Daidai epilogue.

Man what a great ride (pun intended).

This manga hooks me in the 1st chapter with the right blend of comedy and horror (a rare breed, I must say).

Also there's not many buddy manga out there (that I know of), espescially with two female casts.

The ending is great. You go girls, enjoying your hard-earned vavation (while sovling gray cases as a side job haha).

Fun fact: my browser URL autocomplete is Ura Baito. So every time I want to access Mangadex, this manga would be the first thing I see. Kinda sad that I won't be able to see an update from it anymore.

I was thinking about it thoroughly myself and I'm starting to understand what had happened, albeit it was hilariously in a dream. Yayoi Kokuryu was "the first ghost"/grey mentioned by the Designer in chapter 240, page 1 and thus the cause of all the grey that destroyed humanity being so overpowered due to how long it has lived for. Due to Yayoi having been killed by the cursed video tape, the Designers were able to safely restart without Yayoi this time around. Thus, the grey only appear in those heavily affected by emotions.

This was seriously one of my favorite series. Genuinely bittersweet to see it end, it was a great series. It's sadly rare for good horror to last so long, so this was a real treat while it lasted!

Sadly I doubt it will get an anime adaptation due to how "niche" it is. Honestly though, the series seems to be one best fit for manga given how it used the color red in so many chapters, and the occasional fourth wall breaks using the page layout. Those would be trickier to adapt to anime.

Sadly I doubt it will get an anime adaptation due to how "niche" it is.

Apparently, it's quite popular in Japan (within its niche, of course, but still) and hit 1st place in MangaONE's rating this month (which is basically a metric that shows user interest/support), which, as far as I understand, is a very good sign for the publisher that this is a work worth marketing.

I wouldn't bet specifically on an anime adaptation, but I also wouldn't discard the possibility of some kind of adaptation being made, be it an anime, live action movie or audio drama.
