What exactly is your issue with the pacing? I think it's fitting for slice of life.
I have seen the raws, though my Japanese isn't that good. But I honestly don't see what it is that needs to be spoiled (after all, unlike other romcom, they're already dating).

Sorry I should've specified more and to answer your question on pacing, it's more of a small nitpick of mine since I feel like the recent chapters don't really progress the story as much as I would've liked. Just a me thing though and tbf I was reading this at like 3am

No, the manga is still ongoing, as far as I am aware, I was just making a joke that every shounen romcom manga ends as soon as the two leads confess to each other and start dating. Or they come up with an excuse why they will start dating in X years and the mangaka will drag on the manga until the point they start dating.

The original LN, on the other hand, is over after 5 volumes, and we, judging by the illustrations, are in the middle of volume 3 currently. The LN seems to be fully translated, so you could try reading it, I guess.

MC expressed his desire to always be with FMC and hugged her in ch 48.
MC finally said he likes her in ch 61.
And they started dating for real and kissed at the very end, in ch 62. Edit: this happened under the tree, recreating Ch 4

In between, it's just slice of life stuff, like summer festival date, school festival prep, festival date, and best couple competition among others.

Next ch they had a double date with the girl from ch 38 (Kaede) + her crush who likes FMC (Kasukabe). MC and Kasukabe have conversations in many chapters about FMC. In the end, Kasukabe picked Kaede, and they too entered the best couple competition.
