Into a sewer
If you refer to chapter 1: Tama-sama survived by eating waste when necessary, relying on animals for transportation across water, and taking on various jobs.I like how they treat Tama like a ray of sunshine, but we still have yet to see what kind of past she has—given how things are going, I don't think it was all smiles and optimism.
hey, healing is messy. sometimes you do gotta trudge through a sewer to get to a better place.gotta love some classic "leading someone out of the darkness" imagery [...]

Yeah, but all of that was not very superficial? Isn't a proper flashback missing? Although, well, maybe Tama is just the bold type and that's that.If you refer to chapter 1: Tama-sama survived by eating waste when necessary, relying on animals for transportation across water, and taking on various jobs.
I think, a flashback missing is the whole point - Tama has no flashbacks to show. Unlike the rest of the gang she went under the radar of Witch Hunt, so basically, nothing happened to her. Seeing her being the way as she was back then helps other girls to connect to each other anew and to their former selves, one way or another. Shien get into business again, Mode is smiling again, Rea is helping people again.Yeah, but all of that was not very superficial? Isn't a proper flashback missing? yeah - I read all of this as Tama being the "normal" one—i.e. the one who didn't suffer severe trauma, and thus will be instrumental in helping the others heal, as they all help one another heal as well.I think, a flashback missing is the whole point - Tama has no flashbacks to show. She is the only one of them who still has her innocence. She's the only one who, despite everything that happened didn't break. Rea and Mode (and probably Shien too) was broken by the witch hunts.I like how they treat Tama like a ray of sunshine, but we still have yet to see what kind of past she has—given how things are going, I don't think it was all smiles and optimism.
not for Shien, it's heavily implied in an earlier chapter if not outright stated that nothing happened to Shien. But that the sheer boredom and loneliness of not having Tama with her to manage the aspects of her life outside of alchemy turned her into who she is today. Falling into a deep depression because there was just nothing for her to do or look forward to without Tama. She is the only one of them who still has her innocence.
