Noo your dad sucks leave him, your other family is a maybe but never fully rejoin the family. You were abused and tortured for not having a thing and that not something you need right now in your life especially in the future if you have kids or something. Will you let your dad do what he did to you to your kids in the future and raise in that type of environment.

Y'know, that last page made me wonder.

A lot of stories have saintess be a response to a demon lord or some calamity (shit goes down, saintess show up to save the day)
But how many 'demon lord' come about because of one madlad was willing to go 'fuck this world' for the saintess.

That sounded like a proposal to me, and I'm still confused why Bridget always wants to go back to her family. I mean, they literally kicked her out for being incompetent. and now that they know she contracted with a Phoenix, her trash family suddenly wants her back. She's way better off just living happily with Yuri :aquadrink:

She wasn't just expelled. Douche canoe Daddy would burn her and shove her hands into flames in an attempt to draw out her spirit contract. And only when he had fully traumatized his child did he exile her from the main house as a useless incompetent, not worthy of his name.

Yeah - she remembers happy memories when she was a young girl, and she probably still wants some semblance of a happy family again. And that (understandable) want is running up against the reality of the horrific treatment she endured at the hands of her father.

I can understand her feeling pain at the hard decision of perhaps walking away from her family—for how bad her life was after being exiled, it was still a form of stability, and as she says in this chapter, it meant she could attend the academy and pursue her dream of becoming a spirit scholar.
But she absolutely shouldn't subject herself to future agony and misery, or worse outright controlling behavior from her father now that he wants her back purely because of the value he sees in the truth of her Contract. Because that's not her getting the father she loved back, at all.

Brigitte even considering going back feels insane, but I guess that reflects how badly off she is.

Weird how stepbro is trying act familiar with her when they've never even spoken before. Serious stalker vibes.
