That's one of the major reasons that digital music players have made a resurgence. Just music, maybe videos too, without the distractions of the internet. Old iPods are going for around $300 USD and there's a whole market of mods to modernize them.

My sympathies. One of the first things I bought when work issued me a laptop was a universal docking station. No way I was going to be able to work with just the laptop screen.

I still used wired earphones, so they just stay in my pants pocket regardless of if I have my phone on me or not.

There's a lof of manga in this genre lately but they mostly suck.
