I wonder what the author is going with the whole "zero talent" thing. Because he has something. I mean he did get this far.
My guess is that the whole ordeal is that he's talentless as a martial artist but has a fuck-ton of talent on "VIOLENCE" whatever that means in this manga.

This girl is normal, she's just underestimating him/ not knowing that his ass has been in constant life or death battles lmfao. Obviously we know he's only "good" at those kinds of fights but neither her or master would ever know or allow them to spar that way

I get that the author is technically throwing harder opponents at him, but it honestly feels like this motherfucker forgets how to fight at the start of every arc and has to relearn all over again, usually via some sort of violence-related epiphany caused by getting brutalized repeatedly.

Like, how many times is he going to fall for that "lmao you were bracing for a kick but I punched you instead" shit? Every fucking opponent he has fought has pulled that trick. HE HIMSELF DID THAT SHIT BEFORE.

I think all those hits to the head gave him brain damage.

In fairness that's a trick literally everyone falls for. Getting someone to think you're doing one thing and doing another is fundamental to almost all martial arts. Any sort of feinting is basically trying to do that, in judo unbalancing basically comes from deception (getting someone to move in the direction you want them to).

I do find it funny that Setsuna hasn't gone over groin shots with him but I'm guessing that's because she wants to keep them intact

The kido style girl is pretty sexy when she isn't using school clothes.

And Akita really had no academic training, formal training I mean, just a series of techniques. THe old master must really feel like he had his work cutout for him with this guy.

Hope our boi show some qualities that are appreciated. I don't wanna see him only get his ass beat until the last moment

Umm, very efficient indeed but... No one else noticed the lack of the moustache on page 7?

I feel Kirara will be very surprised when she sees Akita get bloodthirsty, though I wonder if it'll actually come at any point with him sparring with her. Maybe when things get more serious, since Setsuna said he'll actually have to survive there.

Tyvm for the scanlation! :bocchiwave:

It feels like the author is pushing the no talent agenda a bit too hard. I can see Kirara saying it after his day 1 performance. Setsuna been pushing the no talent thing recently too. I think it should be the opposite. He should be super talented, just lacks the teaching and fighting experience to hone it all. At least it would make everything that happen so far feel less ass pulley. It'll be him getting things done on talent alone and needs the training to fight people who has about the same talent with way more experience.

And Kirara seems relatively normal so far. She's telling him to stop for his own good. Not knowing Setsuna is grooming him to be her killing machine husband.

That facial expresion of Kirara's is a treasure I will defend with my life.

Also I think the whole talentless as a fighter thing for Akita is really setting up that his talent is about adaptability and a mindset that doesn't really view fights like most people do, which is why he keeps getting read like that. The explanation about the Kido-style in this chapter and the way the manga contrasted him against Fuminori makes it seem like that's the direction to me at any rate.
