Rika's face when Sousuke asks for a divorce is priceless. She thought that just proving the baby she's expecting is his would be enough to get her forgiven šŸ˜‚

However, this is exactly what makes me certain of one thing: in the end, the way Rika loves Sousuke will become the weapon that destroys herself. In the previous chapters, we were shown Rika's bizarrely high expectations of Sousuke. These exact expectations will likely lead to her downfall.

Perhaps, in the final moments, Rika will finally realize that her love with Sousuke was the "ultimate love" she had been seeking. But by then, it will already be too late for her.
This scene i've been thought it multiple time in my mind.

From the moment when we know Rika doesn't want divorce Sousuke this a fatal weakness she has revealed. But this divorce form, is Sousuke trully want it or just to make Rika show the true herself ? We know in this chapter Rika still lying, so we need some trigger to make Rika be honest.

I was wondering what you found? But in the last chapter (98), the author clearly showed that Soska has no love feelings for Akiba, rather only gratitude. And I would like to answer your question "Who will teach Rika to love?" She gave an answer after a few replies, this person is Sosuke-kun.

I wonder how many chapters there will be, more than 100? I think one chapter won't be enough to finalise everything properly, unless Soska says, "I want a divorce."
Yah literally i know it, i asking it if there some chance another thing could be the reason. Like it could be shiho or could be the family. Not only Sosuke, i mean.

I found interesting part, like when Rika said "the secret acount has fulfilled its purpose", then Iwabuchi flashback, Rika want second child. These could be answer almost all what happen in this series. So Rika made Ura aka is on purpose and made it before she meet Iwabuchi again, and Iwabuchi is assignment to manage it. But i think its no matter again because we will know the truth in several chapter then.

And yap, Sousuke said it (divorce). Honestly i already expected it. After we know Rika doesn't want to divorce, and she has big expectation Sousuke is only for her. So, the divorce is the ultimate weapon for take down her. But like you said, Sousuke not really falling in love to Akiba. So this divorce request Sousuke give to her is trully his goal or only for to make Rika be honest ? But for me even Rika be honest, Rika has ruin Sousuke trust, it hard to comeback with that wound.

I thought here, and I thinking that Sousuke maybe already went to family court before the "hotel arc", to get the rights to create Shiho for child abandoning from Rika

Alright my final theory on why Rika did all this before the next chapter reveals everything. My current theory is that Rika’s ā€œtrue loveā€ means love that survives complete disillusionment. Sousuke originally loved the ideal wife she showed him, but Rika may not consider that real enough because he didn’t know her darkest side. So the entire story becomes a stress test: she keeps revealing worse parts of herself and escalating the situation to see whether Sousuke will still choose her. Iwabuchi’s love is insufficient because he already accepts and enjoys her cruelty, while Sousuke hates everything she does. If he still stayed after learning the truth, that would be the strongest proof imaginable to her.

The manga takes place in 2025. The law for joint custody was approved in Japan on 04/2024, with an adaptation period of 2 years. Meaning, all the legal system should abide for said law on 04/2026, but not every court needs to grant it. That means there's still a chance that he can have solo custody of Shiho.

Small notes and nitpicks from chapter 100:

- I've said it before, i've said it again and i'll say it how many times it takes: Sousuke's biggest trumph is that he has grown along the story. While he always tries to keep his persona, his scene with Miyabi already shows he cannot take it much further. Rika's biggest problem in this entire story was treat Sousuke and not accounting for that, believing she was always going to work with his persona from chapter 1, or a small variant of that.

- Both Shingo and Iwabuchi delivered their monologues to the reader. However, we later learn that Shingo gave some testimony to Sousuke. While Iwabuchi didn't, Sousuke being so certain Iwabuchi's testimony would corroborate with the others put a firm nail in the coffin of Sousuke's trust on Rika.

- Some theories we worked on were proven right: she did take her time to outgrow the abortion time period. And yes, it was definetly his kid, and not Iwabuchi's. On the other side, while the image we got was a placeholder from Sousuke's mind, she did not deny the affair with Shingo. On contrary, she blamed Iwabuchi making her do it, so indirectly acknowledging the deed.

- Rika's expression in this chapter do not make sense from a normal person's view. The cruelty from almost kicking Misato faded when Sousuke arrived. But here she changed from a cold, calm and controlled person to a person who was desperatingly searching for the other to believe her. The timing for that, in front of Sousuke, seemed too artificial.

- "To be loved, you must first allow yourself to fall in love". I remembered this doing their talk. Rika always treated others like they were inferior to her. But she also wanted someone to teach/show her "true love". If she cannot break herself from her old habits, she could never achieve it.

- It could also mean that, "supreme love"( Saikyou no ai) that Iwabuchi, Misato and even Sousuke thought was a form of love that was too different, too special, too unique for them to understand...but the "true love"( Hontou no ai) that Rika talks about is just normal, sheer love, that she somehow distorted into some form of adoration, because she can't feel normal love like other people normally do.

- We still lack a bit of Rika's background, the reason for this entire plot, and why did she take 8 years to start it with Sousuke. This alone is enough to cover the missing piece on her puzzle.
