Small notes and nitpicks from chapter 100:
- I've said it before, i've said it again and i'll say it how many times it takes: Sousuke's biggest trumph is that he has grown along the story. While he always tries to keep his persona, his scene with Miyabi already shows he cannot take it much further. Rika's biggest problem in this entire story was treat Sousuke and not accounting for that, believing she was always going to work with his persona from chapter 1, or a small variant of that.
- Both Shingo and Iwabuchi delivered their monologues to the reader. However, we later learn that Shingo gave some testimony to Sousuke. While Iwabuchi didn't, Sousuke being so certain Iwabuchi's testimony would corroborate with the others put a firm nail in the coffin of Sousuke's trust on Rika.
- Some theories we worked on were proven right: she did take her time to outgrow the abortion time period. And yes, it was definetly his kid, and not Iwabuchi's. On the other side, while the image we got was a placeholder from Sousuke's mind, she did not deny the affair with Shingo. On contrary, she blamed Iwabuchi making her do it, so indirectly acknowledging the deed.
- Rika's expression in this chapter do not make sense from a normal person's view. The cruelty from almost kicking Misato faded when Sousuke arrived. But here she changed from a cold, calm and controlled person to a person who was desperatingly searching for the other to believe her. The timing for that, in front of Sousuke, seemed too artificial.
- "To be loved, you must first allow yourself to fall in love". I remembered this doing their talk. Rika always treated others like they were inferior to her. But she also wanted someone to teach/show her "true love". If she cannot break herself from her old habits, she could never achieve it.
- It could also mean that, "supreme love"( Saikyou no ai) that Iwabuchi, Misato and even Sousuke thought was a form of love that was too different, too special, too unique for them to understand...but the "true love"( Hontou no ai) that Rika talks about is just normal, sheer love, that she somehow distorted into some form of adoration, because she can't feel normal love like other people normally do.
- We still lack a bit of Rika's background, the reason for this entire plot, and why did she take 8 years to start it with Sousuke. This alone is enough to cover the missing piece on her puzzle.
