It's still pretty stupid to walk into a trap knowingly with your backstabber maid without informing anyone. She is lucky that her sister is as stupid as she is and didn't think of killing her after replacing her. Or ordering the dude to "make her worthless". So to speak. And now the story comes full circle. Avril is so unbothered she's not even worried about escape, Corina is just THAT fucked from word go and she knows it, so it's literally just a matter of waiting until WHEN someone shows up.
I just reread.... There's plenty of cut content, small things which could be inconvenient later and the volume extras fluff. A bit of Avril's personality got toned down but the narrative so far is the same. Wedding climax is WN chapter 60, actually.I'm legit surprised we got to the series-opening flash forward in basically 20 chapters. I'm used to series opening up with a spoiler of the climax and then 60 chapters later you still feel miles and miles away from those events unfolding.
Unless this is a sign that this is going to wrap up soon because sales/readership is low or because it was just contracted to be a short-term WN/LN ad with no plans to really dig into the whole length of the story. Or because the material it adapted from ended soon after and there's no more ground to cover.
Thanks much appreciatedThank you so much for the chapter and picking this up! She’s the sweetest heroine I legit tear up sometimes.
Chapter 17.
To be fair to Corina, she obviously doesn't value, or understand, the value of being unsullied for marriage. She also already thinks her sister is worthless because of her traits. Remember that Corina hung out in the most decadent circles of nobility, so affairs are her bread and butter. It's still pretty stupid to walk into a trap knowingly with your backstabber maid without informing anyone. Avril's proven to be hyper-intelligent in everything that isn't emotional comprehension, which she is a complete dunce in- she probably behaved like that exactly because she KNEW how stupid her sister was and how lacking in foresight she is in general. She just didn't think Corina was quite as blind and stupid as she proved herself to be, which is why she tried to warn her out of alarm initially. It's still pretty stupid to walk into a trap knowingly with your backstabber maid without informing anyone.
