both of them were stupid but that's just how they are i guess

To be fair, they didn't do it for shits and giggles. Yuuta stabbed his foot as a way of getting his crippling anxiety to shut up. I think the goblin general copied him in some kind of warrior pride thing. ie: "you're saying you can beat me with one foot crippled? I'll take that challenge and beat you with one foot crippled instead!"
