Not only this is a bad flashback (that would work as a retcon, yes, but it isn't so it doesn't work) but Raoul's personality and reactions to stuff is TURBO out of place. I guess the artist is just trying to steer the boat to keep shit afloat as long as people keep giving him the stage and money, which is sad, the story was going just fine. I don't really see the reason to try to pull whatever is the objective of this months long flashback arc.

I completely fuckin forgot why we were in this fuckin flashback, but it’s all just filling time until we can focus on Raoul v. Goddess of abundance and misery porn KK. So far the only things that matter are that Cat Scythe was in on it from the beginning, the God of blindness used a Victoria seeking missile “knowing where it is and where it isn’t” on Raoul for the sake of future entertainment, and it’s a miracle Raoul didn’t implode as a ‘cursed’ child.

There has to be another secret or something that leads to the advancement in Raoul’s current story or else it’s really been bodybuilding filler which is technically fine and still fun to read, but taking a while lol.

What is wrong with the people and gods in this world? They literally manipulated and gave a four year old a love potion as entertainment.

in case you hadn't noticed... The entire world, as far as the Gods are concerned, exists for their entertainment.
And they're not playing nice...

Whether retcon or not, this "flashback" simply shows how they "selected" Raoul as their punching bag, and started the long, looooong train of contrived "misfortune" to make him break.

And the Gods are not one team, they're loose and shifting alliances "preparing" Pet Projects to throw at Raoul. Vicky is one, the current not-sus-at-all prince is another, etc...

The gods are a bunch of bored sadists running on the "That'll never work... Hold my Beer...." type of bets running high stakes, including their own existence.. For Entertainment.
And ultimately Advancement if the result is Pleasing Unto the Chief God, who can breed any amount of new gods and can erase them at will, so they're in their own Rat Race...

So a Goddess of Love preparing a Love Potion to further the Pet Project of Cattus Sadisticus to corrupt a 4 year old girl is par for the course for them.

Literally what is this arc. What could this possibly have to do with the previous one. It feels like they're hamfisting it to keep the series going. It also feels like they're pulling this whole backstory out of their ass as nothing earlier in the series ever suggested anything like this arc occuring.
