actually I keep asking why Nanase and Yuni still are together through out this series and I think Yuuko is the only sane one here.

I'm expecting Yuni to tell Mashiro that Fuuko is not hers, Fuuko is hers, she isn't Mashiro's, and Fuuko belongs only to her ngl
And give mashiro the middle finger xD and take Fuuko somewhere where they could be together alone

Reading those last chapters, i actually wonder whether Nanase has some sort of autism, which is totally fine ; autists too have the right to live a normal life, but you still have to keep their condition in mind : it's a fine balance between treating them normally but always be mindful of their special condition or find ways to make it work in everyday life (for example : autistic people seem more attune to music than words, which can be used to teach letters, words, etc).

Basically in Nanase's case, most things must pass through the volleyball lens in some ways for her to actually have emotional impact as we can see with her actual meltdown when she had a fight with Yuki compared to her discovering Yuni cheated on her, which the latter noticed very accurately ; Yuki is more important than Yuni simply because of volleyball, during middle-school, otherwise, Yuki was non-existent (it's one thing to forget about some kindergarten friend you didn't see for a decade, it's another thing to not notice someone with whom you've been classmates for years.....like surely...you'd notice you've been together with that same classmate for like a decade, no ? And actually bond with them during that time ? Or at least acknowledge their existence).

Which makes this Yuni-Nanase relationship doomed in the first place : Yuni is (was at least) ready to support her (she went through the hassle of going to another city to just cheer on her, with only a couple days notice : that's dedication and ressourcefulness particularly if they're not well off, if your partner does it, please thank them and don't consider it as a given and be ready to do the same for them, reciprocity should be important, unlike what Nanase, as an airhead - calling her mother that, pots calling kettles really -, did) , but she is not ready to become a volleyball player just for her nor become a team manager, and that should be fine in most relationships.

In a sense, and it's quite ironic with the way a vast majority people sees Yuni : Nanase is actually needier than Yuni because for her to be emotionally invested in her partner, she needs her to play volleyball or be included deeply in that activity in some ways.

But to be absolutely sure....Nanase needs to be diagnosised, because this one, i might overthink. (I knew Yuki was in love with Nanase and was a bit shady, but not shady to the point of traumatising her, that i didn't see)

From what I can tell. Yuni is trash and fuuko is desperate to love someone even if they're self-centered trash so yuni may as well be with the person who'd worship her like she wants.

It's so weird how desperate yuni is to become nanase's number 1 when they have nothing in common and yuni hates having to compete with yuki for nanase's attention. Nanase isn't someone you can own like fuuko is. Nanase already has deep interest in her hobbies and very close precious friendship. Trying to monopolize her (which is insane behavior anyway) ain't gonna happen. Fuuko is isolated and a victim of abuse. She should get away from the rapist sicko and yuni asap but for the sake of the story she's probably stuck between a toxic narcissist and actual psychopath...

Yuni is such a narcissist. The whole world has to revolve around her. It has to be fun for her and dote on her till she feels satisfied. She gives nothing back. Nanase was too boring and a bother while seeking help from yuni so yuni decided to go somewhere else that would interest her. She gaslit nanase and left her in an even worse state than she was before seeking help.

Now that fuuko is trying to give up on yuni and seperate, suddenly yuni wants her again. Yes yuni is being lured by fuuko's psycho abuser but it's more than that. Whenever yuni feels like nanase isn't revolving the whole world around her, she goes to the person who will. Then the afterglow fades and yuni wants to get her next hit of narcisistic affirmation from a more "respectable" source. Fuuko is too easy and that's not interesting enough for yuni after a short while. Yuni is total scum.

Yuki is a bit annoying but at the same time, if my closest friend from high school acted like all our earliest memories together meant nothing to him, it would hurt a lot. So I get it. Plus yuni is a manipulative cheater and nanase is clearly too weak to handle it herself. Yuni is destroying her yet she wants to hold on to yuni for who knows what reason. Watching your best friend let a parasite drain them like yuni does to nanase is infuriating. Yuki should be pissed. Seeing her best friend become a shell of herself because her abusive cheating girlfriend is draining the life out of her. She seems to have crazy brainfog at this point, presumably from the stress of her relationship with yuni plus all the confusion and stress we all feel as teens. Nanase needs to wake the fuck up after that last conversation and get as far away from yuni as possible.

Nanase and yuki can work their shit out only after yuni is gone. Otherwise it's like trying to help an addict while they're on a bender. Virtually impossible.

This is some juicy drama 0_0

Suddenly the importance placed on the voir dire process in US courtrooms makes a lot more sense.

This is fun. They ALMOST had the conversation that they have to have eventually, but Yuni is incapable of being honest with herself or others. She finally called out the fact that Nanase pretty obviously cares more about Yuki than Yuni (which is fair, Yuni sucks). What she needs to do is go a step further and say "I'm in love with Fuuko and am only tricking myself into thinking I love you, and you're in love with Yuni and are only tricking yourself into thinking you love me. Let's break up."

Yuni doesn't want Nanase OR Fuuko, that's why she tries to have both. She only really loves herself. She loves being in love and being loved more than she could ever like an actual person. She will go to whoever gives her the most romantic affirmation or affection. Cheaters are self centered by nature.

Fuuko is fucked. There is no good ending coming for her. Which is a shame since she's probably the most innocent person in all of this. Nanase I think will be fine in the end, she seems pretty resilient. I don't know if Yuni could ever be happy. I think she has a perpetually dissatisfied personality.

Well, friends. It will never stop being funny to me how you justify Nanase for literally everything. Sure, the girl didn’t cheat on her girlfriend right to her face, and she’s not that much of a piece of shit, and nothing is going to justify Yuni’s cheating.

However, Nanase is still incredibly hypocritical when it comes to this whole situation. Even before she found out that Yuni was cheating on her, she was already uncomfortable with Fuuko being around her. Every chance she got, every single time she had a moment with Yuni, she would let Yuki pull her away from Yuni so she could go off with her instead. She never gave Yuni a proper place in her life, not before and not after.

And honestly, I genuinely think Yuki is the one Nanase actually likes. Nanase might not be aware of it, but she’s also been emotionally cheating with Yuki from the very beginning of her relationship. She’s never cared enough about Yuni to genuinely stop and consider what Yuni ACTUALLY NEEDS.

I’m not going to take away Yuni’s responsibility for her actions, but if you don’t think she has at least a LITTLE bit of a point, then you’re reading this with your fucking ass.

On the other hand, I’m kind of glad that Yuni has finally started to realize, at least a little, what Fuuko means to her. She knows damn well that she loves her, but she’s in denial because of this whole mess with Nanase.

Además, Yuni es una persona terrible. Cree que Nanase está más triste por Yuki que cuando la engañaba. Nanase estuvo a punto de dejar el voleibol por ella. Es una mala persona.

You’re definitely right, Yuni is very insecure and has a lot of issues with her self-esteem. But she does have a point. Nanase has never reacted to Yuni the way she reacts to Yuki. I genuinely don’t think Nanase has ever felt the need or even had the initiative to do something as simple as giving Yuni a gift, and don’t even get me started on her reactions.

I think that, at the end of the day, Yuni has a point, but she’s also determined to keep herself stuck in that mindset.

Hey, thank you for your comment. I love finding someone with some common sense who reads this manga because I’m so tired of seeing people put all the blame on Yuni when Nanase is also very much at fault.

Okay, we get it, she didn’t cheat, but the girl barely ever paid attention to her own girlfriend. She has an emotional relationship with her friend, and sure, maybe she isn’t aware of it because she’s so oblivious, but that doesn’t absolve her of any responsibility.

Of course, nothing will ever justify Yuni’s cheating, but the thing is, she didn’t even want to cheat at first. She refused to have anything to do with Fuuko, but then Fuuko found a way to take advantage of her vulnerability, and Yuni eventually gave in because she wanted something Nanase could never give her. They’re simply incompatible, and Fuuko can give Yuni what she’s looking for.

I’m not defending either of them, but they’re both responsible for their relationship going to shit. Yuni never communicated how she felt, and Nanase simply assumed she was okay with the way their relationship worked. Meanwhile, she completely ignored how much time she left Yuni alone or how often she stood her up, whether it was because of her club, her friends, or Yuki.

In this whole mess and the toxic dynamic between all four of them, everyone bears some responsibility. There’s no way you can absolve any of them just because their wrongdoing is more socially acceptable. Personally, I think neglecting your girlfriend’s needs makes you just as bad of a girlfriend as being unf
Nanase also has a recurring habit of doing all of the things that Yuni wanted to do with her, with Yuki, and/or including Yuki in things that she does do with Yuni. Nanase effectively treated Yuki like a girlfriend more than she did Yuni in the majority of situations and incidents that we are shown throughout the series; Yuni's whole issue is that she is Nanase's girlfriend, but Nanase spares more emotional and mental bandwidth for her "friend" than for her.
You could argue it was unwitting on Nanase's part, but that's also a problem; we saw last chapter that she has a long-held habit of just not paying attention to things that aren't actually important to her in the moment, like how her best and closest friendship went back multiple years further than she assumed. She forgets Yuni more than once, and allows herself to be pulled around by Yuki or by volleyball or by her friendgroup at the expense of the person she wants to be her girlfriend. I'd argue she absolutely is emotionally cheating on Yuni with Yuki, and has been since the start of the series. Her being unaware of this, isn't an excuse on her part, just like Yuni's choice to repeatedly seek out Fuuko due to her frustrations with Nanase aren't excused by Nanase's negligence of her when she could have talked to Nanase—something ironically paralled in her parting 'advice' to Nanase in this very chapter.

Yuni's a deeply flawed character who made bad decisions through the series, but they are informed by what Nanase, and then Fuuko, and then Yuki do, as well. You don't have to like or condone her actions, and I'd argue you're not supposed to even within the context of the plot as it's presented. But it is far, far less simple than you're painting it to be.

aithful.

I gotta say, the accusations that Yuni is a narcissist always get a laugh of me since the story never paints her as such

Now, does Yuni sucks? I honestly don't think anyone will actually disagree with that, but saying she's a narcissist is honestly really overblown, now, is she selfish, self-centered, self-absorbed, egocentric and so on? Yeah, she arguably is, but here the thing, so is Nanase lol

A lot of the negative traits people give to Yuni are also problems Nanase has, like, from the very begining little by little the story reveals to us that she's completely self-centered and only care when things are part of her main interests, like volleyball

Again and again we see that Nanase completely insensitive and never tries to understand Yuni at least until the cheating and even after that she never really changes

A good example of how Nanase is just as bad as Yuni is when she had a game in another town, she simply assumed by default that Yuni would be there, which of course is fair since they are a couple, but do you all remember what she did then? Nothing, litereally really, she simply expected Yuni to go there watch her play and didn't do a thing to help her get there, where she would stay and so on, not only that, after the game she also completely ignored Yuni and gave attention to her teammates, why was Yuni even there? lol

Another good example and arguably worse is the camping, she promised to be with Yuni and what she did? Left her completely along and went to hang out with Yuki, so again why did she insist on Yuni being there?

She also want to keep her relationship a secret, which is understandable due to her past, but then she goes and does with Yuki every single thing Yuni wanted, what was the point of hiding she and Yuni are a couple if she was going to pretty much do all the couple things with someone else? lol

One of the differences between them is arguably how the act, Yuni never communicates yes, and she's even aware of that, but neither does Nanase, as a matter of fact Nanase might be worse because she's completely oblivious to their problems and make assumptions about Yuni, the worst one being again during the camping, where she made completely wrong assumptions about Yuni mother

For all her problems at least Yuni knows she's wrong and shouldn't be doing any of that but she's too unstable emotionally to actually stop herself, Nanase meanwhile is as stable but blind as a bad to everything in front of her, she never once thinks of questioning things, of asking something to Yuni, she simply assumes she knows how she feels and that's it

Do you guys know how someone like Nanase can be called as? Selfish, self-centered, self-absorbed, egocentric and so on, oh yeah, and the Yuni bashers favorite, a narcissist

And before someone tries to argue against me I want to remind one thing, Nanase being like that was made more clear than ever due to Yuki, she always believe that she and Nanase had this super besties relationship and knew each other for a long time, only for Nanase slap in her face cause she's completely oblivious and self-centered, if it's not directly related to her interests everyone is secondary lol

I'll be honest, at this point I don't think it's even lack of reading comprehension, I think quite a few of Yuni haters are completely projecting lol, "oh no she's a cheater, what a monster, wah wah!", if it wasn't for the cheating I don't think her bashing would be half as bad, nor would so many write entire fanfics to justify their hate

Is what she did wrong? Yes, nobody denied that, but she's not this eeeeeeevil narcissist monster that cheated for the lulz, the cheating happened because the two are utterly incompatible, a big part of it being due to Nanase being completely oblivious and negligent girlfriend

And before someone tries to whine on how Nanase isn't negligent, oblivious, a terrible girlfriend and so on, I recommend you first reread the story from the beginning, cause the mangaka herself little by little portrayed Nanase as such lol, and don't forget that she found the cheating, choose to stay with Yuni, promised to change, and still stayed the same nigligent and oblivious girlfriend

Like, Nanase is so much all these things I said that fucking Yuki lost her shit in last chapter lol, if that don't make it clear Nanase is that bad than nothing will convince any of you I guess

At the end of the day neither are really narcissists, Yuni is simply too love starved and Nanase is simply clearly not into actually having a relationship right now, they clearly never should have been together, the only "saving grace" is that Yuni and Fuuko were able to meet

Also, I suggest any of you who is too angwy with Yuni and want her and Fuuko to get punished, end unhappy, yada yada, just stop reading this story cause this will not happen, at the end of the day this is still a romance manga even if very dramatic, there's like 95% chance that Yuni and Fuuko will end together and we have been going that direction for a while, even more after the cheating, only question is where Nanase will be at the end, with like with Yuki, single or whatever

So to finish this rant, Yuni haters? Stay mad, stay losing, cause they'll be pretty much surely end together, happy, without suffering any consequences no matter how much you all whine :dogkek:

I don't remember Yuki fingerbanging Nanase in front of Yuni to receieve the same treatment as Fuuko asking for help. There is no hypocrisy. Nanase rightfully asking wtf is she doing with Fuuko since she doesn't seem to be into getting cheated on constantly. Yuni is just being her usual narcissistic gaslighting self to compare the two after making out with another girl infront of her girlfriend lmao.
Nope she didn't finger bang her she just deliberately and systematically replaced Yuni and every chance lunches, dates, opinions and secrets. Not the same thing at all. Why do people believe replacing someone isn't the same as replacing them just because the context has been shifted?

Another peak chapter, it almost seems like Yuni subconsciously realized what she wanted
Not sure if I'd call it subconscious even a few chapters ago she said doesn't that me I and then the scene cut away so it has been said out loud but I think it's widely accepted Yuni believes she loves Fuuko I for one read it the same way. It might not be the most healthy love and it started from a fucked up place, but it seems to be love.
