PHP Hypertext Preprocessor

Thought I would throw my 2 cents in. Sounds like something said from "Red Dwarf" or "Star Trek" jargon. All of it fly's over the heads on average MD users. Too much inside techie.

How would this affect LeBron's legacy?
(Sorry I'm not very smart)
In short, the forum backend is built in PHP so if there's an critical issue on PHP (the code language) then it's need to be updated to prevent the exploitation by attackers.

Let me copy my comment on gyp post:
if we check the announcement issued by xenforo, perhaps this thing is really part of PHP thing, not related to those legal publishers

According to NCSC, there's two critical issues found in PHP coded CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619 so they suggest to migrate the server to the latest PHP version.
And this also affect every app that their backend built based on PHP. So that's the reason there's major maintenance events outside there.

I read someone report that Umamusume run a maintenance too so perhaps their backend also ran on PHP-based framework.

I did wonder if that was why MD was down
It was indeed. There was an announcement on reddit.

Aight, I'll take one for the team and ask the most important question that's probably on everyone's mind right now.

Are the mitigations(patch) successfully mitigating(installed) now?

Which is a redundant question now that the servers are back up and running, I know, but might as well ask for the confirmation as there's no official announcements concerning such that I know of here in the forums.
