I had assumed that the party had actually dragged the MC down because he outshone them so much, but it turns out they were all just delusional idiots who assumed all his over-the-top magical abilities and skills were just normal... despite probably not being able to do any of that themselves...

I'm fine with them all being scumbags, but the fact that they're so blind/idiotic makes it just a bit too ridiculous that they can ever successfully scheme or deceive anyone.

The plot of this series is getting dumber the more we repeat the same basic story loop over and over. The only reason I'm even still here is because cute spirit girls.

Making this rant 37 chapters in means you might be dumb too, also it's a common technique for someone with low intelligence to nerf the intelligence of their characters so the story flows better but this author went too far so you either take what you get or drop the story, I for one have very low expectations for this story and so I no longer get mad at plot points, I just expect them😂

Well, Univas is also extremely humble, I bet he kept constantly claiming himself to be nothing special or much. Especially since the truth really is that it's the spirits doing the real work. And the spirits are pretty clearly being abusively disrespected and made use of by most humans. Hence why they are so head over heels for Univas, the one human treating them not only well but extremely respectful of them.

Almost a catch 22.

The moment Onzabitch and the hero treats the backpacker immediately reminded me of "Beast Tamer" and "Jack of All Trades, Party of None" anime where they asked the impossible for the newly recruited replacement. I think "Scooped Up by an S-Rank Adventurer!" also had the same act happened lmao.

But for some reason, here, I think the glaze wasn't that "stupidly over the top". Because after the backpacker explained to them, they immediately backed down lol. In the three examples I used, the asshats didn't back down, but trippling down lol.
