  • I miss early-mid 2010s fansubs when they put so much effort on subbing (especially OP & ED karaoke effect)

one of the most memorable for me is that some group actually replaced ED song with local song that was hilariously relevant (at certain point) to the anime for one episode :ROFLMAO:

@Blocky_Mudkip At least a few of the older DVDs I've got have outtakes from the dub sessions, which range from 'meh' to really funny. And ADV did something akin to real-time footnotes on some of their series, showing explanations for cultural references that might get missed otherwise.

I miss when fansubs would do unique things like color coding fonts to characters designs (Green hair would get green font), I noticed it when I was watching Precure recently:

@Blocky_Mudkip You just remind me the official French dub of Hokuto No Ken. The dubbing actors didn't like the violence of the anime, so they sabotaged the dub to tone down violence and add humor (because the anime was aired during an emission for young children). The result was a gloriously sabotaged dub, with some hilarious moments and silly jokes. The problem is that it was the official dub. Other french dubs has been adapted like that, even if not as far as the HNK dub go, city hunter was one of them. I don't miss it, but it's kind of funny to watch thoses dubs.
Man, Microsoft is such a small (or should I say micro) company, they couldn't keep their studios afloat... 😭😭😭

just kill Xbox already at this point, M$!

sometimes I wonder why we still haven't planned to build a space colony and use it as a larger checkpoint for space travel yet?

Honestly, it's sounds safer & more reasonable + still has those exciting sci-fi shit than just go straight from Earth to Mars where anything could go wrong in the worst way possible

I don't know shit about this but I'm assuming it's just cause moving the amount of material necessary wouldn't be worth it, at least right now. It does seem like a good thing tho if we do plan to do the whole colonize mars thing

@UnnamedPlayer pretty much has the same line of thought I do, I think. There might be something cool on one of the moons of Jupiter, but most of our solar system is kind of crap for 'let's build a colony here.' Send the robots out to poke around, and if/when we get drives that make travel to someplace worthwhile feasible in generations rather than geologic ages, then we can take a look at serious space exploration.

Well, NASA and similar orgs are planning to go return to the moon, and a moon base would be just what you described. The problem is that public will to go to space basically flatlined after the Cold War, and the US is too busy giving billions to billionaire CEOs to give any money to NASA.

I hope i can escape this by delaying windows updates for a while.

And i'm pretty sure anti-trust may have a word to say about that, at least for the promotion of microsoft apps/software in its own OS. And European and american anti-trust are waking up since a year, after decades of sleeping, so i'm pretty sure that kind of stupid joke won't last long.

Not sure this will get played as an anti-trust issue if Microsoft opens up that advertising to third party apps. Particularly in light of how the initial US ruling on Internet Explorer was basically walked back to being toothless once the appeals worked their way through.
Listening to Shinano Baa-san being young again yet still speaks like grandma is surprisingly addictive :wooow:
