  • Online Searching has truly become useless.
I'm frustrating myself with finding a simple electrical part that allows me to check for input in 8 directions and all I get are industry switches, fully assembled, and priced in 3-digits.
I want the simple elements, damnit!
Read a book about Montessori education.
My first two years were in a school that claimed to be a montessori school, except that it seemed more in the line of anti-authoritarian teaching, which pretty much turned it into 2 additional years of kindergarten with nothing really learned out of it

Montessori may be usefull for kindergarten, but it fail after. When you learn to read, write and basic arithmetics, you need specific methods for that and they don't mix well with Montessori. And in middle/high school, the "materials" to learn are too complex for non-directive teaching methods.

Yeah, (almost) no kid wants to spend energy learning their times tables or irregular verb conjugations, but those kinds of things really do need to be taught with some direction, and it has to be done in a fairly rote manner. I think there's room for self-directed study within fields of interest, but past a certain point the core curriculum doesn't really lend itself to that for most people.

The only thing I remember I learnt in kindergarten was to read, even in the napping class I wasn't good at it. Never had Montessori education, just bad or good teachers.
I find it weird that Horiyima is apparently a super popular series, yet apart from the genre and praises it seems to get, I know zilch about that series. Like, there is 0 cultural osmosis, I have no idea who any of the characters are, etc.
I have it in my to read list, but it is rather interesting that despite it's apparent popularity, noone really talks about it

"While I'm at it" annoyance is quite powerful, I gotta say
Now I have a blinging theme

I like that. Maybe the blue is a little bit hard to read on green if the characters aren't bold, otherwise it's good.:02:

@Painasbread I do plan to give the text some backing so it becomes more readable. It's particularly noticeable with the official publisher mark that there needs to be some fixing still.

For now, this is the temporary solution for the readability problem.
Not satisfied with it, but I need to figure out how to change the grid system.
The idea is to turn the chapters more into a vertical stack:
    Reading Status
    Language
    Title
    Group
    Comments

Upload Time, Uploader and the nonfunctional Reader amount would be put into a hover menu.
Uploads would be stacked next to each other like really fat books.

The Cover image will also be styled up, but that's for later.

Made the Ad much less intrusive, removed some other annoyances, added some Neumorphic effects and also made the Forum Avatar show up on the mainsite.
übel/uebel: A german adjective referring to something bad.
However, Böse/Boese is usually a more commonly used way to refer to the opposite of good.
Übel is used in the context of being morally bad "Ein übler geselle" (A nasty fellow) or "Das ist übel" (That is awful), however, the most common usage it has is "Mir ist übel" (I feel sick), with the sick in this context meaning "Vomit Inducing"
So, if a character uses "Übel" as a germanism, the meaning that first comes to mind is "Someone who is ill and needs to vomit" instead of a vile scoundrel.
    Sorting is done.
There is apparently a box missing, given that there are some suspicious gaps in my Collection, but for now, I'm putting them into the bookshelves in order to finally free the room up.
Annoyingly, some of them are in a large format, which makes them not fit into every shelf, which is quite a hindrance as I sort alphabetically. I'm segregating them out into a special up top shelf for now.
104/295 Series integrated, halfway through the titles that start with G
In the finals, I now document one of the early Manga's of mine.
Which I didn't realize for a long ass time was a boy's love title.
50% is my own autistic ass, 50% is the BL elements being really weak and during that time, there were no genre markings
Probably also that either the chemistry was not noticeable or nonexistent between the male leads, can't remember that being a thing.
It was Kyo Kara Maoh!, btw.
Finished the securing of the bookshelves to the wall today(Drilling through Concrete for the wall plugs while on a stepladder was a bit tough), cleaned them from the construction dirt and am about to reach the final(As far as I can see) Box today.
Once that is catalogized... I can finally sort the manga's into the shelves... Fufufuuuh
I am somewhat surprised that actual remakes aren't at all common.
    Under that, I mean:
The game is remade based on the original concept, now free of the technical limitations of the time, the original concept being expanded to current standards. This here demonstrates what I mean with that, in the context of Zelda 1 Dungeon Design

Instead, most of the time, it is either just a remaster, or the same game with a slightly improved engine or graphics, but no further expansion of the concept
Manga Sortage Database is at 193 Entries of different Series.
4 Moving Boxes full of Mangas remaining.
Gonna finish the shelf installation and cleaning up tomorrow and then begin putting them in once I have the full list
"Ooooh, the popular stuff in anime is big boobed women swooning over a self-insert, I'm really ashamed to be an anime fan"
I'm not a fan of slop either, but you seem to be in only for circlejerking purposes, if this is something that you base your enjoyment on.
What? Do you also only let current season stuff run while you do other things and don't even explore random works?
In that case, there is the door.

    Rant over.
A thought on the Shōnen Big Three of yore, One Piece, Bleach and Naruto

One Piece: Still ongoing and Oda doesn't seem to stop. Just hope he doesn't Karoshi himself, he is excellent at pulling through, the story hasn't lost its edge at all during the time.

Bleach: While it dropped off, near later, it is certainly noticeable that Tite Kubo was obviously forced to stretch it out beyond his original plan. Still, I do consider him a competent Mangaka

Naruto: The author who'se name I don't remember is a pure hack writer. I do not give it respect.
