Glad I'm not the only one who thought that. It's an interesting story but he comes off like an insufferable asshole.

A lot of folks say he's overbearing and gaslighting her a bit, but if you think about it, she is living in modern day China without any identification. China is big on monitoring their citizens and they have no problem doing facial recognition on their CCTV. They are also not very nice to their prisoners.

If this was taking place in South Korea then I would say he's overbearing.

Dunno what the comments are on about, super enjoyable slice of life with a refreshing twist. The characters are interesting and amusing. At least for me, the comedic bits land most of the time.
Dunno about the early translation or w/e the comments are saying, I can't remember them being mtl, but it has been quite a while so maybe I just forgot.
Anyways, this is an easy recommend if u enjoy slice of life hybrids.
