Still miffed that the novel went into hiatus(?) and the new weapon didn’t get to go on an adventure to new lands far and wide .

Though, now that Will is in a real position of authority (whatever his actual title is) logically he cannot go adventuring so easily anymore, the best he can do is local patrols….

I wonder how bad an economy would crash, if a dragon's hoard of silver and gold was just tossed into it.
The spanish already crashed silver through just mining in history.
Stay tuned for the Liquidity Crisis and Velocity of Money. I also like that merchant script (fiat money) isn't trusted enough to be used as the main currency.
It's not fiat-currency, just a promisary note of exchange, which all paper money started as. It's still backed by gold and/or silver, as was our currencies until we made them worth only "trust".

This would be the time to leverage your fame, have the dwarves mint up your own currency, use those to pay the dwarves and other civil servants as well as investment capital in new local ventures in the form of low interest loans and establish taxes that accepts both it and old coinage to bolster circulation and regulate the currency flow in your region. It'll take a fair while for it to be accepted in areas that don't have immediate trade partners with you so you'll have to make do with credit from new prospective partners and hope that your exports will draw in enough demand to speed up actual returns and even more traders.

It could crash Will's town's economy, but not the country's. Especially not if it's Will who owns all of it, since you need to use the coins for them to have any impact in the economy

I see so they're going to trade a portion of the dragon's hoard of copper coins to get the fiefdom in better standing so that it's easier to start dividing the assets up and begin reconstruction as an independent area? That's smart.

Does anyone know what volume and chapter this story is in in the novel? and is there a place to read it?
