"Im going to prioritize the story."
As someone who follows the web novel up to date (its hate reading at this point) let me tell you this. It ends up having 20 subplots with 40 new characters each jumps from POV to POV nonstop even within the same chapter. It is pretty bad.I think at this point it's already too late to try keep following the original plot of the story, specially when you know there are more variables that were no present in the game. I don't know what's the author is cooking but I hope that he stops cooking and get the protagonist to lock in. Even in other manhuas/manhwas or mangas that follow this plotline changer their pov because it's not worth it, the story and everything changed the moment they started to act different.
That is a good narrative device IF the story is self-aware. It is not the case here. His mentality never changes or shown as something bad. Its more of a case of story itself tries to convince the reader that his stance is the correct one when it is blatantly obvious that its the most harmful for everyone involved. Most recent example of this is if his sister didn't ignore him and helped the class, his "friends" would be dead or maimed for life. So even the message contradicts itself. There's thing about characters with flaws make the story, they are purposefully made like that, sometime extreme. Not everything should be perfect for the sake of self-insert or wish-fulfilment.

Through his monologues mostly. Just like in this chapter. But you can just see that things would be much better if he just acted faster because when others do just that things do end up better. (like less injuries, less headaches concerning the fallouts etc.). Its all over the place. He very rarely takes initiative and mostly ends up in the middle of major events which are funnily enough are the result of story going completely offrails. He ignores that part though.Tries to convince through what or who? Author/narrator or the characters?
Then that would be the character's mind, through purpose or whatever, spelling that to tell their character.Through his monologues mostly. Just like in this chapter. The art and the fight scenes are the only reason why I'm still reading this. Otherwise, I would've dropped at this point. And like what another comment said above, hopefully he sees the world he's in a similar way to the "tough being a mob" MC and just does what is best for him and those he cares about and disregard the original plot entirely.Lol this wasn’t great to begin with but MC/Author being retarded is good enough reason to drop this garbage. It’s a 4/10 at least the arts decent.
Okay. So I cannot remember if it was talked about it in the manga, but the reason to follow the story is because it is the least chaotic, and if they were to go on another path there is a chance at all out war between countries and everyone is at risk then. They are taking precautionary measures in many cases because they are not sure what their actions will have to the world."Follow the story", when he and everything he did already defy the story...
This type of reasoning? is as bad as ["If i do that, i will be like you" to the villian after beating the villian's mobs]
