I just noticed, the manga's been axed. Probably why it's developing this way, but it also feels somewhat natural? Like what more could be done right now given the story beats before.

Honestly when I clicked on this chapter I thought it wasn't axed but the TLer deciding to end their involvement with the manga before they get caught up in the recent wave of C&D.

but yeah after reading the chapter I got the same feeling. The series ending this way seems natural with how half-arsed this series have become.

commits suicide by stopping the witch's heart so that the dark power flows into her and dies willingly to protect everyone since she can't turn into a witch. the plot twist is that the witch's power is a system to withhold dark energy from exploding sorta like a dam and without a witch it explodes, which meant every ending in the original world where Eterna dies actually led to a human extinction event, past the game ending. which is what happens in here too

-Elrise resurrects (with a full soul) and Turtle dies
-Turtle reincarnates on Earth as author of game
-Elrise aces 1st Witch, saves the previous saint (current witch)
-Elrise moves into seclusion with Alfrea, Leila, and Vernal (who won't take the hint that she's not into him)

-Epilogue includes Elrise traveling to a Bad End multiverse where the witch destroyed the world and Vernal is the sole survival, fighting monsters until he dies. She saves him and destroys the witch for good, allowing the Bad End world to eventually heal. She then returns to the normal world.
