This sounds like cope from somebody that's afraid that liking a gay story will say something about them lmao. Misaki is so femme that I don't get why it matters, this is basically a mildly-spiced hetero romance. If Misaki had some masc traits, that would change things a lot but he's basically written as a woman that's referred to as a man because of arbitrary reasons.

The hypothetical "x character is actually a woman" cliche was already talked about in the early chapters as like a "don't worry guys the mangaka isn't a hack" type of deal. I would drop this if they tried to pull the "Misaki was actually a girl the whole time" bit.

Anyways, they're inside of a game. Do you think the devs that actively refuse to allow you to date the Misaki character are also based enough to model genitals for that character? Actually, didn't they mention that this game is not an adult game? By that same logic, the gals probably don't have any anatomy beyond what a bathing suit would cover either. I think it is indeed implied that at least the shy one is a boy? The student council president had said something along the lines of "No boys allowed, unless they dress up to my liking" while focusing on that one. If this ways the case, why on earth would the game contain such stimulants if not for direct action?

Kobani-chan's reaction to being called a girl seemed to be "huh?...ah! hehe" so seems its really all three. At least how I read it.

Just seems Kobani actually likes this so not forced, while Shino is.

I mean the funny thing is its not Hareta going through this, normally the mc of a story would find himself in this kind of situation not the one meant to be a side character, so it might not actually be something the game ever intended to play out for the player.

Even judging from Hareta and Misaki the game characters do seem to be growing past their "ai" or whatever the world is. Maybe the devs never even had this written in and its just...happening.
