A pattern would suffice, but yes, that's still slightly additional work.May be, but that would require much more effort for the author to draw her everytime, so no)
Wait a minute, I thought her maid "outfit" is magic/part of her dragon scales or something?
If not, then I guess they got the outfit created for real.
I was really conflicted when Tohru’s outfit started talking and thought I had to deal with the idea that from now on Tohru is wearing a Sentient being. and that the dress itself is now a new character.
thank goodness for the twist I don’t have to add that to this list of …..uncomfortable questions in this series.
Do remember one key aspect of the Shinto religion is everything from small rocks to great mountains and the sky has spirits attached to them (and that is one basis for Pokemon). Even Western Lit has some things become alive out of love, like the Velveteen Rabbit. So, believing and loving her dress as much as Tohru does could have legitimately imbued it with awareness and spiritual abilities.I was really conflicted when Tohru’s outfit started talking and thought I had to deal with the idea that from now on Tohru is wearing a Sentient being. and that the dress itself is now a new character.

also is it weird that Tohru’s tail just seemingly sticks out of her butt?
Later, ok?Couldn't change her costume now, think of all the merchandise!
Though Kobayashi-san's Dragon Wife does have potential.
Don't strip
Good point! Nice analogy and reference to Shinto fulclour. I had forgotten about that aspect since it’s manly used for toys and house hold object but I guess clothing also falls under that category doesn’t it.Do remember one key aspect of the Shinto religion is everything from small rocks to great mountains and the sky has spirits attached to them (and that is one basis for Pokemon). Oh, I don't think it is, but there are more things in Heaven and Earth, than dreamt of in Tohru's philosophy. She might not have known she could make the dress so imbued, but accepted it with delight. It is a fiction from Kobayashi, but one within the possibilities of this universe.Good point! Fair enough... but I’m still not sure I want Tohru’s outfit to be canonically sentient.
