I'm not even mad at Poppy. The Pope is a piece of shit rat bastard, she has always been a less than willing conscript, and the entire premise of the war is predicated on lies and exploitation. The whole thing is bullshit from the ground up.

I think the pope had plans of killing the futurists, too.

Which means that the guy betraying him played himself majorly, what... did he think after this the futurists of the empire would just... accept him? He talked like he was doing this as defiance... this did not feel well thought out.

If that little shit had not turned traitor... then it would have been a twist... she was the most TELEGRAPHED betrayal I have ever seen in my entire life, but at the same time I presume what is obvious to us isn't so much to the characters in story.

I wanted her dead... but if Miura died... dead will not be enough.

You know what... the guy that tried to kill Lucas... his reasoning is understandable, even acceptable I think, I like Lucas... but you can't exactly ignore a few of his "quircks", I support him because I know Lucas doesn't want to do war, but I can understand why someone that doesn't know him would think that someone with that power is dangerous... I like him, and I know his power is dangerous.

Being honest with anyone in the main cast would literally get her killed. Social isolation can have pretty devastating effects on a teenager's mental health. And befriending anyone around her would make her an even worse person... seeing as her job is to stab them in the back. I doubt Poppy was ever likeable, but can we really rule out the possibility she wasn't as bad several years ago?

Peak chapter, and I'm not exaggerating. I'm not sure if it's as good as Mont St Michelle's arc climax or the Mirror Ramus' arc climax yet, but it's definitely in that ballpark.
It got everything: the soldier rebelling against Lucas' mind control, Poppy being revealed as a traitor, a coup, apparently people of the present rebeling against the future, Oscar being a badass, and obviously Miura being a badass and possibly sacrificing himself to save Luca.

I was a bit iffy on that arc at the beginning, with the whole future war stuff, but I'm glad I trusted the mangaka he managed to make it all work perfectly in the end.

My headcanon is that Zahid and Demi will get together. Zahid waiting for prostitution was wishing for a "pretty girl" to service him and his antler crackled signaling that his lucky wish came true(though it may because his life got saved from imminent death) and Demi appeared in front of him. The only thing Zahid mentioned was that she was his coworker XD

how was Poppy able to aim the arrow around the corner at lucas without using Demi's eye power? mistake by the author or the ramus with branches around its eyes has a similar power?

That bitch! seriously for someone who just wants to chill with her rich parents on the family estate, she's doing too much! how is being a double agent who has to help kill your friends easier than just sending long distance arrows from the command centre?

I guess this solves Miura becoming too powerful. If only he had been wearing gloves.

Miura is probably going to die this arc, but he'll flower first. It's clear that the plot has become the Pope, Lucas and the gang vs the futurists and the Empire, and Lucas needs motivation to destroy the futurists.

And here I thought this chapter was going to have Lucas's murder-yandere fangirl be the least of his problems.
