Can someone tell me when those guys(the "bandits") appear and why they seems to know Vandalieu?
The one guy who knows Van was the same 'priest' that Van was asking about that had disappeared; he had infiltrated the villages to destroy them with stuff like diseases and poison. Van had unknowingly ruined all his efforts so they're switching to more direct action.

"That's right. If you must hate someone, the hate the Amid Empire for stealing your homeland! I'm not at fault here."

You look like a certain group in World War II who said they were just doing their job while committing massive atrocities.

Dude, as a human being, you have the right to refuse. Why did you choose to attack innocent villagers and disguise yourself as a bandit, even though you are a knight?

Thank you for the update!

It's a medieval fantasy world. If your superiors order you to rob, rape, and murder innocent people, refusing those direct orders can get you fired or even executed by your superiors.

Glad they were wiped out pretty quickly. This manga easily has the capacity for any event to kill anyone, and they’ve done it before, so Van being there was a blessing.

Thanks for the translation! Next chapter is going to be spicy.

That's true in any kind of garbage society, no matter the era. Especially IRL. And no, you can still fight or at least escape that kind of shit. He really is just another "following muh orders" accomplice who didn't do shit against them and is just as guilty.

One problem though, they were not ordered to do this. They just chose to, due to the fear of being considered useless, even though there was no proof of it.
