This character just seems so inconsistent. She still seems like a selfish villain, yet none of her actions (even if we account for her being cautious) seem consistent with that. Why wouldn't she just take the Magic Tower's market share? She won last time, why should she care? It wasn't what caused her death, and probably made her family very wealthy.

It's an interesting read, but the MC is the worst part, for me, so far.

She was killed by her daughter because our protagonist botched a coup that had, by that point, gotten the rest of the family killed. By that point the daughter was more or less justified in killing her.

Why wouldn't she just take the Magic Tower's market share? She won last time, why should she care? It wasn't what caused her death

The implication is that even though it didn't directly get her killed, it had negative effects in the long run that we aren't privy to yet.

She absolutely loves her children regardless of what they do or how they turn out, so she doesn't want to prevent her daughter from being born.

I also think she's a sociopath, and doesn't actually understand right from wrong, so she doesn't really understand what will or won't turn her daughter against her.

It's an interesting read, but the MC is the worst part, for me, so far.

My read on the MC is that she's a complete sociopath, but feels a twisted kind of love for certain people (such as her children). Even a "best friend" will be completely ignored or even murdered if her priorities happen to be elsewhere. This timeline she's trying to avoid meeting the same end, but I think her complete lack of ability to identify right from wrong means she doesn't really know what will result in her meeting the same end, as she doesn't actually know why what she did before was "wrong" or what she would do differently to be "good". So instead she's just opting to do the opposite of whatever she did in her previous life. She even explains her reasoning behind telling her best friend about her recursion being "I hid things from her in my last life, so I should tell her everything in this one."

It happens every time one of these "I got reincarnated as the Villain/Villainess" series go the Power Fantasy route. They do the montage of the MC becoming overpowered when the simple solution is just not being a shitheel.

Problem with Bakarina being the progenitor is it already cracked the code on the first try and all those following the trend keep trying to find a new way to reinvent the wheel. lol
