Even monsters can lose their appetite.Wait, oguri missed a chance to eat free food? This must be serious
The real Oguri Cap had the worst consecutive race to the point the race before his final race got him at 11th place. It also reflected in the game with a heavy penalty should the trainee race consecutively more than 2 races at a time.I really thought the consecutive races were a dramatised version of this manga. But damn, I was wrong. The irl Oguri Cap indeed raced consecutively. What a monster.
Yeah, I can't help but wonder what they were thinking to put Oguri Cap on those consecutive races. Did they fail to notice the fatigue or because they believed in Oguri Cap's ability a lot. I feel sorry for Oguri. The real Oguri Cap had the worst consecutive race to the point the race before his final race got him at 11th place. From what I've heard, at the time Oguri Cap was bought by a new owner, so he made Oguri race a lot to quickly earn back the money he spent on buying her.Yeah, I can't help but wonder what they were thinking to put Oguri Cap on those consecutive races. It was a problem of that time, when Oguri make horse racing booming again after a long times, fan put lots of hope on him. And huge profit from winning G1 race is also one of the factor.Yeah, I can't help but wonder what they were thinking to put Oguri Cap on those consecutive races. heck, it's actually outright impossible to race both Mile Championship and Japan Cup in the same year in game because they take up the same time slot. Even with the "regular trio" of Tenno Sho (Autumn), Japan Cup, Arima Kinen, only two Japanese horses have ever achieved a sweep (TM Opera O and Zenno Rob Roy, latter of which still holds the Arima Kinen record time), because a month of average downtime between those 2000m+ G1 races is generally considered the limit and maybe pushing it. Jungle Pocket also did win Japan Cup after placing 4th in Kikuka Sho, becoming the first horse to win Japan Cup after running a Classics G1 race in October. Gentildonna and Almond Eye would later win the Triple Tiara and Japan Cup in their respective classic years, and notably both did not run the Queen Elizabeth Cup prior (which would be an insane schedule, and I'll also note that the 3rd Tiara race is 2000m instead of 3000m) nor the Arima Kinen in December. There's also a bunch of Kikuka Sho winners who then won Arima Kinen, but only Symboli Rudolf among them also ran the Japan Cup that year. The real Oguri Cap had the worst consecutive race to the point the race before his final race got him at 11th place. Kondo Toshinori bought Oguri from Sahashi Isoo for 550 Million Yen as Isoo was trying to make a quick buck to cover his arse after getting busted with his tax evasion scandal. From what I've heard, at the time Oguri Cap was bought by a new owner, so he made Oguri race a lot to quickly earn back the money he spent on buying her.
