just accept it with a prayer. They never really delve into the story. And can you really explain something that's not meant to be explained; Borderlands, at least, what's explained by the wiki, seconds can mean weeks to months and a person who died probably seconds nearby after another probably arrived weeks after. Apparently it takes 60 days to reset.

I recall they never show the bodies of any of the face card players unlike other players who died in the games.

The body of the deceased citizen was not shown, and neither were the bodies of other players, only the name of the citizen, like kuzuryuu,mira,kyuuma, and tatta, also only the name was show in the screen of tv that arisu watch. This is just my opinion, before the meteor hits, the first one who saw it was Kuzuryuu, Mira Iwao Shirabii,kyuuma and the gang. As you can see from the kuzuryuu flashbacks, the meteor already hit when he went back to Japan, if you still remember. It means the meteor already happens before arisu go to Borderland. You can see the flashback of all citizens in what chapter I forgot kyuma, Kyuma, Iwao,mira to see it. Sorry for my bad english not my first language.
