As usual, we got our fix of witches not fitting in human society creepily (courtesy of Shien-san), plus a nostalgic wave of pain (courtesy of Mode-Chan…).

So apparently this part is about ”loss”. I really wanted to know what is it that Shien had lost during her times of solidarity…
We definitely know what Mode-Chan had lost, at least, and what a painful thing to be reminded of that bear friend she used to ride on so many years ago…

And apparently, Mode-Chan’s closest familiars all wear the same sunglasses from the past. Good to know.

The playground bear also having "tears" down its face on p.12 was a bit more emotion than I signed up for, thanks.

But her getting her piggybear-back ride at the end from Shien is just reason #68 as to why this series continues to deliver with its loving attention to the smaller details and nods.
