Sorry for the delay, this is the latest chapter for now. As for my plan to pick up this series, it seems like I won't be able to do that anymore. I lost my babysitting gig, which is my main source of funding for college expenses, and my Ko-fi got reported, resulting in my account getting banned. As of now, I have made a new Ko-fi, I hope it won't get taken down too. Do not jump to any conclusions. Sorry for not being able to keep my word. 🙇‍♂️
Thanks for what you've done so far!

thanks for chapter

that trustworthiness and confidence could kill her someday, except she is also like a comical characters and this type actually never dies.

It almost does. Her one weakness is Light magic, remember? She gets backstabbed by heroine girl. Depending on the medium, it's for a variety of reasons. Also, in the book, she uses a charm that defends against a mortal blow to survive that backstab, which is what saves her. Given to her by Patrick, IIRC. So she does get a little lucky and it makes her appreciate Patrick even more.

Her talking about how the tea tastes prickly reminds me of the manga about the demon lord lich/sage, where because he can't taste food anymore, his subordinates started giving him holy-enchanted food to simulate "spiciness" because of it trying to damage him.

This would be heartbreaking if Yumiella had any expectations of her parents in the first place. I wonder if she's so used to being alone, it truly doesn't bother her at all anymore.

No wonder she became the secret boss of the original game. It's almost like the people around her are begging her to become the monster they treat her like.

isoycrazy down below corrected my mistake, but I am keeping my idiocy on display for future comments' browsers.

I wonder if the local government has already realized Patrick is the anchor keeping her in the country, and that is what elevated his standing to the point he could have frequent meetings with the prince. If I remember correctly, early on in the story Yumiella draws attention to Patrick's family having a relatively low status in their hierarchy. And that's gone straight out the window because he's the only human they are aware of her having any attachment to, at least to the degree she can be influenced by.

Yumiella is the daughter of a count. Patrick is son of a margrave, equivalent to a marquis, and his rank is just below a duke. Patrick out ranks her. Patrick might have been looked down on because his lands are in the distant country.

i still don't understand why she can let go of the maid. sure, her sister is a hostage but it looks as if she doesn't feel any guilt after trying to poison our fmc
It took blackmailing the maid with her sister's life, meaning the maid first refused the order (and probably refused multiple offers) until the blackmail happened.

Now, could she have admitted this earlier and asked for help? Yes. Why didn't she? I don't know. But, rescuing the sister and keeping her hired will ensure a loyalty unlike any other maid that could replace her.
