Since we are all such upstanding citizens who care so much about the law, I suggest we should make reports to the UK police about the scandalous illicit activity on this site. This is interesting, last I checked knowingly hosting, distributing, and promoting pirated content is illegal in those areas and will have you taken to court.
Can you please tell us who we need to contact in order to help you guys remove all the illicit and illegal material from the site? Wouldn't want you guys to get fined and sent to prison for breaking IP laws.
I think that was for the quote above yours.I also didn't ask anything like "what about X series"
noones requesting the removals its the staff wanting to follow and enforce EU regulations and laws on a world scale and they are saying they would rather do that than Ban everyone not in the EU(at this point not sure it matters anymore), and as for how much content if what has been said is true it is ANY manga of ANY rating that dipicts ANYONE that is not explicitly stated to be 18+ in any form of sexual situationIt's extremely telling that, despite all the moderator/staff responses, we still have no idea who's requesting these removals and what's being planned for when they eventually order for more removals to be done. How much content needs to be deleted off the platform before it's too much? Sure it's case-by-case, but the reasons behind said removals can be applied to the vast majority of the works available on the site. Why is this point constantly being ignored? This is a website that exists solely due to the support that its users have given, what is with the lack of transparency?
Just recently, Brown Dust 2 (a gacha game) almost had to censor their entire game globally just because Germany decided to go after them for the content in their game. You know what they did after severe backlash? They just censored the offending aspects of the game for users located in Germany. What's stopping the team from just making it so that the removed works just can't be viewed by users within the country that's apparently pressuring you whilst allowing everyone else access to the content?
I suspect this may be the case, or at least close to the truth, especially given how vague any official information coming from the MD mods is on the nature of the MD / NamiComi relationship.I just want to remind everyone that the site's in this mess because a certain admin created NamiComi as a side hustle and used Mangadex to drive traffic to it.
It gets difficult to dance around legality when you throw OpSec to the wind for a few bucks.
"Its not illegal in the US, most of Europe, all of South America, and most of Asia, but its illegal in a few retarded anglo countries and those are the only people who matter."Australia, UK, Canada to name a few.
You're part of the problemPedoshit is beyond cringe but MangaDex going more and more the Crunchyroll route is very sad.
Thankfully there are other sites
I believe people on twitter and discord are also doing that, while also contacting various KR and JP companies (and in some cases if they have a twitter account the creator directly) who are having their IP stolen and hosted here.Since we are all such upstanding citizens who care so much about the law, I suggest we should make reports to the UK police about the scandalous illicit activity on this site.
And because we are very morally righteous, we should make the police's job easier by providing them with the MangaDex company registration in the UK, including all legal names, so the police can solve this issue as quickly as possible.
Stop being a wussStop being weird
Sorry if it seemed that way. This doesn't answer any questions, and seems to be intentionally evasive to downright dismissive of honest user questions.
Can't answer that, partially because I'm not involved with legal or infra-level decisions. Why does it matter if it's illegal in the UK, CAN, AUS? This is a US-based site operating under US laws (according to the site terms). Why does it matter whether you can "operate" in those countries, and what does "operate" even mean? Why not just host servers literally anywhere else in the world where there's no problem, and let those countries decide if they want to ban MD IPs like most of the rest of Europe already has?
Because as a bunch of volunteers with no legal training, we were not equipped to deal with the extremely high number of takedown requests that happened at the time. We some people at NC and had previously collaborated. Why does MD need NamiComi to handle takedown requests? Why of all the other manga hosts was NamiComi chosen? Why had nobody even heard of NamiComi before they took over MD? What relationship is there between MD admins and NamiComi ownership? Is this whole issue because MD needs to be "clean" so it can transition to a for-profit business?
That was mostly aimed at the dozens of other people asking the same shit. The answer is that we have looked at what needs to be actioned it and that's that.I also didn't ask anything like "what about X series" and any attempts to frame it as such are disingenuous. My question is "what about literally half of MD content that could fall under these rules," which is a very relevant question that NEEDS to be answered.
I'd just block those titles in those jurisdictions by requiring users to properly tag the series or chapters as loli/shota, while ensuring it doesn't get added to series where it's not a major theme. So Chichi Chichi would have it but not Maiddragon. Can never implement this perfectly, but can do a beset effort.Australia, UK, Canada to name a few.
EH actually did it with limited application. I remember few years back there a 4chan discussion on this. Some titles are actually region locked. But that is probably test case and not fully implemented.I'd just block those titles in those jurisdictions by requiring users to properly tag the series or chapters as loli/shota, while ensuring it doesn't get added to series where it's not a major theme. Surprised more sites like Danbooru/E-H don't do it, but I've seen it in a few places
Okay, can you be clear as to how the decision to remove said works ended up being the final solution? Were there other options suggested before this solution was decided upon? That was mostly aimed at the dozens of other people asking the same shit. I feel so vindicated for not using this website for my manga, not only you are the problem, you also ignorant and a tourist that came into our space, those "problematic" things will always be part of the anime community and you cannot do nothing about it, only virtual signal about fictional charactersStop the misinformation. Titles being removed depict sexual activity between characters that are minors, either in appearance (handled on a case-by-case basis) or confirmed in the dialogue. It's about law and compliance with it. If you jerk it off to little kids, go and do it elsewhere; there are sites that specialise in that.
The main EH site does this, but the SadPanda variant doesnt as its the completely unrestricted version. They get away with it cause most people aren't willing to take the time to get around the sadpanda.EH actually did it with limited application. Fair enough, and thanks for the response.Sorry if it seemed that way.

Well i don't mind to accept apology, everyone make a mistake. But was she really apologize tho?Yes, it was uncalled for. I and several staff members wish she hadn't said that. I can't change the past, you can choose to believe in her apology or not. She's not getting demoted or removed over it. I'm not mad about it, but I think it's understandable that other people are. The choice to remove the content was unrelated to her or any staff member's personal opinion of the contents.
Oh yeah I can't see those tags without going to the dark versionEH actually did it with limited application. I remember few years back there a 4chan discussion on this. Some titles are actually region locked. But that is probably test case and not fully implemented.
