I remember reading the synopsis of this manga before and not that interested
Now after checking it out, I found it fun. The vibe is bit like Dungeon Meshi with serious plot but laid-back pace. Love it.

Laid back but competent mage contrasted with the composed knight; infinite possibilities for what the dragon eats and what the mage repurposes it into.
