I held on touching this for the longest time, with people selling it like it was the holy grail of romcoms or something, but it seems is hitting the usual notes here.....needless cliffhanger......holding out the confession for no good reason....FeMC disappears without notice for another cliffhanger.
So what is it going to be? End within 20 chapters with a real confession in the last 5?

I am a bit confused. A lots of comments here seem a tad dense. They did confess and convey their feelings. They both effectively agreed that they will officially date in the future. They both understood the other's feelings. It is just "not yet" agreement.

Really stringing us along. This series is gonna end at "our days as childhood friends continue on" at worst or a confession at middle school graduation, time skip entirely over highschool and just a couple panels of them as a married couple THE END, at best.
