I feel like sex almost always has to have some undertone of rape in shounen/seinen manga. No matter how vanilla the romance is, at some point the man's going to go "I can't hold back anymore...I'm putting it in!" and then later the woman's going to go "no, stop, it's too much!" Same in yaoi, with the seme vs. the uke. It's like the readers can't get off unless they can at least temporarily pretend it's non-consensual.

But yeah, I find it very strange as well. Same with all the male MCs who are like "she's so unguarded around me, does she not see me as a man?" It's not bad if she likes and trusts you, dude. You don't need to warn her that you might be a rapist; just don't be one.

I think this is a bit of a misread of what Ishizumi is saying. In this case, for him, "controlling himself" is acting like a proper subordinate on a business trip with his boss. He's desperately trying to not see her as an attractive woman in this situation, not that he thinks he'll jump her or anything, but that he'll start reading into what she's doing as being interested in him or having "impure" thoughts about her.

Boss on the other hand is just having wild fantasies about Ishizumi "losing himself to desire" and attacking her. In Japanese, they're using completely different words and phrases to describe the way they're thinking so it is probably lost in translation.
