It's not surprising at all, really. I raised chickens for years, and they'll happily eat their own eggs shell and all if they get damaged. This is genuinely fucking with my head. I get that the eggs are unfertilized, but that both hens can actually speak and are willingly handing over eggs for the humans to eat is just too fucking bizarre for me. The only reason I can rationalize it with chickens is because they are animals and chickens specifically pump out eggs when overfed. But for the egg layer to be sapient and give the unfertilized eggs to another sapient creature to consume is just beyond the pale for me.
It's happened in many manga and web novels over the years. The last one I can easily remember is the Kokkos in Arafoo Kenja no Isekai Seikatsu Nikki, which are basicly sapient martial arts chickens. This is genuinely fucking with my head. I get that the eggs are unfertilized, but that both hens can actually speak and are willingly handing over eggs for the humans to eat is just too fucking bizarre for me. Depends on how you raise them. This is genuinely fucking with my head. This is exactly how i saw this interaction, since the chickens are sentient from their point of view, they got adopted by a family of pervertsDepends on how you raise them.
If its been a year its probably trained behaviour.
Cats give mice to their owners dogs show their belly.
You give chickens enough food and care they are giving you it back.
In a gross comparison. Its like giving a used tampon to a vampire like a vape pen
My human in Christ, this is the second chapter. If this is too slow for you, that is your fault. It's fun to read, but too slow for me
They'll eat the chickens?Little sis I can get somewhat, but the brother is quite a dink... And we know it'll be getting worse based on the synopsis.
Thats why I said for meMy human in Christ, this is the second chapter. If this is too slow for you, that is your fault.
Yeah, you said it all! It's exactly this what I felt reading it.I'm gonna side with @PandaVinChan on this one. What a nothingburger of a chapter... "The chicks are growing and can now speak. The also lay eggs. Eggs are tasty." Maybe my point is, slice-of-life stuff like that is easy to pump out when it's just text, because even the most meandering descriptions cost you nothing. But wasting what's probably a week (two weeks?) of the artist's time on this feels like crime.
The one plot point that actually matters here is that not only the MC is immune to all status change effects, but can also nullify them for anyone he touches. But that could've been easily moved to the previous chapter, so ehh.
