Georgie is resistant to dragon-based enchantments, so there's not a lot of reason to suspect that her little sister won't be.

My guess is that particular point is firmly in the "Let them be kids" territory. The last time Kanna revealed herself to someone her same age level of maturity was when that person was actively being kidnapped. (And also anime-original, iirc, so not directly written by Cool-sensei.)
