God this manga is always so funny. And it’s been a great story for so long, I’m glad it’s so solidly consistent.

consistent in the fact the MC gathers skills and is able to upgrade them to max level at his leisure? yeah, that does stay the same. sadly at some point our MC becomes so overpowered, he just sidetracks on an invasion to gather one ingredient to make a new recipe, then comes back and easily defeats the foe.

the point where i dropped the light novel is still far off, but i lost much of my interest quickly back then.

Eh, current government aside, they are hardly the only offenders. Top 5 for sure, but think some religious organizations are worse. Middle Eastern cultures openly violently oppress their female populations, and widely practice genital mutilation when they hit puberty. Two or three wives are not uncommon, and few care about their brides age.

I've also heard there is a lot of human trafficking and child prostitution in Southeast Asia, and it's hard to forget the long standing allegations of child sexual abuse against the different factions of the Christian faith.

So it's not like Japan is the only ones who have a long history of pedophilia. Their media just gives no fucks about exposing the deviants in their society. Even if it does come off more then a little creepy

Really? I havent really paid much attention to the three letter news orgs in years. It's not like any of this information is new or even sensational. I'm nearly 50 and got a front row seat as all sides weighed in on the issues, and then promptly went on to the next bit of gossip, natural disaster, or political upheaval. My PoV comes from a place where news was printed on paper and delivered to your door. A time before politics became so polarized and tribal. So your assumptions about my souces are likely skewed by a few decades.
