Boy went at her so hard, with all out shit like "I'll take one of her arms" and pretty much full lethal force assaults, meanwhile she mostly treated it as sparring and dispatched him with a decidedly non-lethal pommel strike. Nice.

A Signum by any other name would slay as hard...

Can't be the only one who thinks the author will create an excuse for Haruka to take part in the tournament, right?
I'm actually liking this more grounded thing the author is going for. This tournament was something that Al wanted to be part of and he did well for someone with little experience, and there was no hidden power or plot armor making him win either

Kugan requesting an exhibition match with Haruka could be fun, though.

Kugan could even have a mentor moment with it. "I don't think you understand how strong you really are. Go all out, and I'll show you where you stand."
I think the recent bandit attack really shook Haruka to her core. Despite her immense natural strength, she fears having to kill, even in self defense. But what she hates even more, is being coddled by her party and leaving them to do dirty work instead. She doesn't want to be the one being protected from the harsh reality of this world, of being an adventurer. Which in turns create a paradoxical connundrum. Why is she being protected, when she herself is the most powerful of her group. Does she have to kill when she is so strong? Could she not find some way, with her immense powers, to not have to kill?

This is the kind of struggles that make Haruka an interesting protagonist to read.

I don't like how my playlist played "Komm, Susser Tod" exactly as I saw the last panel.

did an account mostly to comment here and other GBs lol

btw the slap thing in page 2 is reversed imo. Instead of "if you get nervous, I'll smack you", it should be "if you get nervous, she'll smack you", meaning Haruka. At least that's how it is on WN version.
Amazing work Personalist <3

i don't think we have met a single person that likes that stupid noble brat, and for good reason. at least his foolish nature brings good people toghether and they can bond over how pathetic he is
His dad loves him, even if he is dissapointing.

Tbh for me the Noble seems... fine? Hes very naiive and bit bratish, but not unbearable tbh. And its not like he doesnt have character progression, he seems to know that hes unexperienced so he also knows he needs to change, which is tbh far ahead than other nobles

Honestly, it's refreshing to have the tournament arc end so quickly. Or, at least the story's focus on the tournament matches. Not that I dislike tournament arcs: YuYu Hakusho and History's Stongest Disciple Kenichi had fantastic tournament arcs, and so do many others.

But Al's tournament ending here is a breath of fresh air, and it's in-line with how we've seen him develop, as well as the more grounded nature of this manga.

I don't think the fiancée character is seeing Al in a romantic light... more like happy that Al didn't underestimate and take it easy on her? Like the fight was refreshing for her.

But, I'm generally on team childhood friends, so I am biased.

It feels odd to say, but I quite like that Al lost. It feels like a much more realistic outcome that him winning the tournament, which seems like the traditional outcome for these types of story bits.

Honestly half the reason I read your translations now too is to see what fun way you'll be drawing yourself each time, ty for the translation!
