Good, cheaters deserve what they have coming. If after being friends with a person for 10 years doesn't instill some sort of loyalty with said person into your thick skull, then maybe you don't deserve that friend, or partner, or whatever it may be. Or you may be a sociopath who uses people, or incredibly stupid, but even some wild animals have loyalty for each other. Obviously, there are grey areas, but this was completely black and white. The MC could've easily taken his life after the betrayal and bullying. Her guilt is complete self-pity; she didn't have a single thought or consideration for the MC or anyone else, so clearly her excuse means nothing. Betraying someone who trusts and loves you wholeheartedly is one of the most vile things you can do in life, and anyone sane can see how horrible it is. When you make your bed, you lie in it and deal with the consequences. If it breaks you, or it hurts someone you love deeply, then that's your own doing, because it is the path you chose to take, more especially so in this situation, as she wasn't forced into anything.

The way you have to see this story is that it came right at the tail end of this entire trend

The "childhood friend cheats on the MC with the NTR boy, MC is saved by the Real FMC, and the CHF and NTR boy get their lives destroyed" setup is a trope that, while not exactly new, really took off in the WN scene around 2018 and continued full force up to 2022-23. That's why we're seeing so many of these adaptations lately, with the manga industry trailing behind as they get adapted.

I personally read over 30 of these back then because I was bored, and some of them were actually kind of funny in their execution (My favorite because of how overblown it was is one where the Real FMC planned 10 years ahead, making sure she and the MC ended up well-off while the cheating pair had their lives ruined. She even planned dates in specific places and times so the NTR boy, who ended up as a wagie, would see them dressed up and having fun while he left work miserable. That pushed him to cheat on the CHF (who he had married because his family found out she was pregnant and made him take responsability) with an underage girl and land in jail (Well, this part was purely the NTR boy's actions). Then the CHF, a single mother now, finally realized the pain they had put the MC through all those years ago, since the NTR boy's cheating genuinely hurt her and yada yada. The final scene years later shows the CHF and her daughter crossing paths with the real FMC, the MC, and their child, with the MC not recognizing her, and she ends up crying. And the funny thing is all this happened without the MC knowing, as he had actually made peace with the situation and the CHF long before, so it was the Real FMC going "yeah no, fuck them, I will make them suffer")

And right at the very end of this entire trend, you have this story, which takes all the plot points that make this kind of narrative appealing to read, mainly the revenge, and turns them up to eleven.

That's why it feels so overblown. It's like seeing the final escalation of a genre that kept trying to outdo itself. It's the ultimate revenge porn at the end of a long line of revenge porn.

On the other note, the adults here are so much supportive and they know what to do in this kind of situation. I'm eating good story because it shows that there's a plot!!!!!!!

6.8/10

Honestly reading this felt less like experiencing an actual story and more like reading someone’s fantasy. The writing itself is pretty weak and the premise never really had much depth or scope to begin with but I kept going because people kept calling it "PEAK" but the more I read the more it just felt like overly idealistic wish fulfillment rather than a well written narrative.
When you break it down it’s just a very basic revenge story but most of the events don’t even make sense when you stop and think about them the revenge itself is absurdly unrealistic and the plot constantly twists itself just to make the protagonist look good while everyone else is written to look awful. Instead of real characters with believable motivations you just get extremes people who are cartoonishly evil on one side and unrealistically perfect on the other.
The ending is probably the most frustrating part. Everything conveniently wraps up into a neat “everyone is happy” resolution( in the novel) like some kind of Disney ending(thats not a bad thing if written properly buts this story is not) but there’s no real development that earns it Conflicts appear out of nowhere and then get resolved just as conveniently without any real consequences or growth
What really makes it irritating is how disconnected the story feels from reality. The way people behave, the way situations unfold, and the way problems get resolved just don’t resemble real life at all (specially how the teachers act and the mabye most characters). At some point it stops feeling like storytelling and starts feeling like pure delusion. Honestly if someone spent a little more time outside interacting with real people instead of reading stuff like this nonstop they’d probably realize just how ridiculous and poorly written this whole thing actually is
please stop calling this peak because its absolutely not

Ok now it’s gonna bug me if I don’t learn what manga you’re talking about, what’s it called?

My favorite trope with this kind of story is that the antagonist has to be like, inhumanly evil and the more the story progresses, the more evil they have to become to match the good things happening in the protagonists life. This one started out pretty high, so I wonder how bad it'll get, maybe he'll blackmail the mom or try to kill somebody.

Nope everything what u said is not happening in real life, that kind of thing only happen in manga or imagination

Do u know about sudden attack to the back head ? If u hit someone back head suddenly, they won't just standing grabbing their head n looking at u with death stare, the least they do is crawling while protecting their head.

Teacher or headmaster won't take 1 side story if something big like that happen, n yeah u won't lose all sympathy moreover u'll get respect from others that u fight back.

Talking bout experience here, only mentally ill that never fight back.

Consequences?? Yeah me and the bullies almost drop out from school but the headmaster doesn't have ball to do that when my parents and bullies parents threaten to get it into newspaper.
You're still alone, no one believes you. People say you're jealous of him, and that you might have raped your own girlfriend and got angry at the athlete because he wanted to protect her (the athlete is much more popular than you and has a better reputation, and your “girlfriend” backs up these claims). After that, you're even more socially isolated. On top of that, he can sue you for damages, etc.
