The only way to have the title is either to marry a duke (which Allen is not, nor is she married to him yet), have it granted to you by the monarch or inherit it, but for that both her parents and all siblings would have to be dead or striked down from the hierarchy and it would still require the monarch's approval.

The mother probably doesn't care much if it all, but I got the feeling the father does. And even if they both personally dont and the family is currently rebelling from the current monarchy, It is probably still important to keep up appearances of social status.
