And that concludes Volume 2!

Sorry to leave you on a cliffhanger, but Chapter 21 might take a little longer; I have to acquire the raws and everyone in the group could probably use a bit of a break. There aren't really any Volume 2 extras either, sadly, so it might be a little bit before the next upload. No promises as to when, but it probably won't be longer than a month (and there's a good chance it'll be shorter than that too).

Until then, thanks as always for reading and sticking with us through our delays. I hope to see you again for the third and, sadly, final volume. What do you think will happen???

Jesus Christ that was a jumpscare.
Thank goodness we got a student death as a palette cleanser at the end. /s

Interesting little bit of backstory for "Camouflage", though. And it explains why they were so enamored with Itou right off the bat. Anyone who could "undo" the constant lying and fabrication would be a savior of sorts, to an entity who was being crushed under the weight of all that tiring mimicry.
Lets you put down the burden and rest awhile, knowing you don't have to keep up appearances (literally) with a person. That's a very liberating feeling.

Can't say I like them any more than before, but, I do appreciate being able to understand.

Thanks for all your hard work with this series. I don't know if I have any predictions as to how this all turns out, but ten chapters feels like both a lot, and not nearly enough, to satisfy me.

Nooooooo final volume! I bought the first 2 (I think, I just got one of them in the mail :3) to support the author too :meguuusad: :meguuusad: :meguuusad:

I think there's a good chance our mc actually dies for real and I'm not looking forward to it of I'm right. This just feels like the humans in the story are so doomed, easy to kill plus monsters squish them like they're ants (don't matter to them) T_T

Well, uh, I guess we found out who the student that dies on the school trip is

Unless of course this is another monster, which honestly, I would not entirely be surprised by.
I've been wondering for a while if this story may not end in a sort of apocalypse where it turns out that the density of monsters to humans is way higher than even the monsters knew, because they all became so good at pretending.

The silkworm thing seems like there should be more to it, but I don't know what it would be either. Boiling some worms seems pretty low on the lists of humanity's crimes, anyway. Not that it isn't evil to kill defenseless babies so that you can use their leftovers for clothing, but it's not changing my opinion of humanity after all the wars, factory farming, etc.

In before the prime minister is a monster.

We do have some clues that monsters seem to be relatively common, but not something most people know about. I take it they are still a small minority, like 1%-5% of the population, and would lose an out and out war with humanity despite their greater strength. However there is this whole thing about who is really a human or a monster where they could fail to recognize each other or misinterpret a human as being one, even before we get into the whole social commentary angle of what really constitutes a monster.

There's lots of real world parallels with this with persecuted minority groups who are trying to avoid attention, thereby using coded language or failing to notice each other. Though these groups probably wouldn't like being compared to a literal man eating monster.

At least as likable as Takahashi, anyway, and really a similar background and motivation despite their divergent goals.

It would be nice if they could chill out some and achieve their goals in a less murdery way, except it wouldn't really be since that would be less interesting to read, so bring on the murder. It'll be interesting to learn more about their motivations, in any case. It's a good presentation of someone who lies and manipulates others for a living in the sense that we don't really know what they will do or what their plans are. Even when they open up to someone, there's still layers of obfuscation going on in the background because that's how they survived until now. It makes Takahashi almost seem like the purer personality.
