I know the question was not for me but if helps, in reddit there is now a discussion about it, just search something like "Amayo no Tsuki 44".
But basically they are saying :

Mahiro (big chance) is not a bad person, it was Saki fear at the moment; even Mahiro says sorry and want/wanted to be friends with her. It follows the theme of the manga, Mahiro superficially can be seen like intimidating; but she is more like a really clingy and cheerful person with "maybe" not so much touch with jokes when approaching people she doesn't know. Something like that~

God I hope it dont turn into a love triangle or that Saki does anything with Mahiro like I see people talk about on reddit…

I hope the same, imo with how much Saki likes Kanon is not possible even if Mahiro at some point shows interest; and the 45.1 was really sweet so I have faith hahaha

I'm also hoping someone picks it up! It looks like ch42 was translated based on the French TL, but seems to have been taken down after (not sure the reason, and don't want to speculate). I really enjoy this series, and hope someone will be willing to continue translating it soon. And a big thank you to those who've worked on translations thus far.
