It's always funny when people complain about the MC not being the be all end all in an empire building story. Are people just allergic to anything besides their personal bias of storytelling?
I dont think it is that so much as it is that he has just been sidelined out of the blue and pretty quickly.

Right now to me it just feels a bit lost without him being on the forefront of everything. Especially considering the Manga is called Captain Corinth.

Man, I recognized, like, half of those characters.

Honestly, I think they should have ended the manga with Corinth going into cold sleep and Alan's son being born. I agree with RadDengar, it does feel kind of weird for a manga titled "Captain Corinth: The Galactic Navy Officer Becomes an Adventurer" for the original protagonist to be indefinitely bedridden and for other people to be doing everything in his stead.

It might have been better to just make a new manga at this point focusing on the new characters and the building of the empire in preparation against the bug invasion, especially since Corinth promoted himself from Adventurer to Holy Emperor and all the source material has pretty much been used up.

Yeah and its only cancer, how could the super civilization not have a cure or at least a treatment.
they do have a cure for cancer. The problem is that this is something LIKE cancer that's growing out of his nanomachines and they can't figure out that loss of control.

Anyway, I am curious about the direction this is going. I don't mind switching protagonist or pov's as long as they don't bastardizes the old characters, like making them incompetent or villains for no reason. Kinda feels like Agarest Generations of War. It would be interesting to have generations of main characters leaving children and going into cryosleep and all coming back for the bug war.
