Corrupt noble : let's kill the emissaries of the empire that conquered the whole world to hide the proof of our nefarious deeds, surely, nothing can go wrong !
Most likely they'd feign ignorance, pretending the representatives never arrived or were found dead on the outskirts, probably ambushed by brigands, etc. Unless anyone with authority literally accuses them of treason, they know they can get away with it, so long as they cover their tracks.
In the Starvine Kingdom though, that shit won't fly. Precisely, because they're probably being tracked from the skies.

Are they going with the WH40k route with Alan?

It's always funny when people complain about the MC not being the be all end all in an empire building story. Are people just allergic to anything besides their personal bias of storytelling?
No, we're complaining about the mangaka making up such a shitty ending to the manga. Hopefully the author continues the novel to sort this shit show out.

This has gone from one of the only manga I’ve actually bought physica copies of to one of my least anticipated reads with how poorly the plot is being handled. Does anyone know anything about why the LN author quit?

does the LN skip these much ?

The LN ended right around the time he built the city in the forest, IIRC. All of this has been new content.

It bugs me because there are some interesting ideas here, but they're halfbaked. Like, the idea of the "goddess" communicating with Alan via his nanomachines (and using Celeria's face to do it) is way more interesting than the big nothing we had in the LN. Or the idea of the spy who somehow knew about Alan's capabilities and nanomachines, or even how there's bugs on the planet but they seem to be infiltrating instead of just eating everything. All of this is a more complex and interesting situation that hints at neat plotlines that I'd like to see more of.

And yet none of those plotlines are having any payoff and it feels like everything here is just getting told to us rather than shown to us.

Huge disappointment.

Also: There's no way in hell the new kid being crowned is 4 years old.

It feels like Truck Kun is picking up speed for the axe.

There's just way too much "X years later" attempts to sew up some loose ends.

Good lord the pacing and direction, pump the brakes on this a bit more and flesh things out before jumping and adding more stuff onto the story. In the last chapter we were still dealing with Alan adjusting to his magical space cancer and the plan for that going forward and to Cleria learning the place of her and of that of the child she will have with Alan in the overarching plan against these bugs after Alan revealed his backstory and in the span of a single chapter we've sidelined Alan and Cleria, skipped forward a few years and it seems that this manga is going to shift to focusing on Alan's son and on side characters putting out fires within the empire.
I'm fine with the overall direction of the story conceptually but I feel this shotgunning of half baked plot threads on top of half baked plot threads needs to slow down a bit.
