Well, sorry, I don't mean to disrespect your good theory. But the fact is, none of that was ever officially told in the story, right?

I think the truth behind whether this was a coincidence or entirely planned could be a major clue. Because if Sousuke finding Momonga's secret account was merely a coincidence, it means Rika's current actions are just an attempt to protect herself from Sousuke. But if everything was planned from the very beginning, it means Rika has an ulterior motive and wants Sousuke to do something for her.
Whatever that might be, looking at the current situation, I believe Rika's reason for dragging Sousuke into this is to force a confrontation between him and Iwabuchi. Then the next question is: Why would Rika drag Sousuke into a confrontation with Iwabuchi??
Is she hoping Sousuke will help her? Or is she actually helping Iwabuchi destroy Sousuke?? Or maybe Rika wants to destroy them both?? Who knows...
You may think that I adhere to the same theory, but it is not. I understand perfectly well that Rika may turn out to be an even bigger scum than the author shows her to us, but she can also be a victim. Since many participants of this forum are against Rika, I decided to take her side, because even now nothing is clear. I just like to question other theories, as well as listen to arguments against my theory.

I've talked about this with UROD-PC earlier, but the manga has a tendency to draw many blank points on it's own. Mostly divided into 3 types.

1 - Disregarded for later use or simply not used( how did Akiba grew to know about the secret encounters on the school? How did Rika accquire the SD card and erased the contents without Shingo, it's owner, not noticing? How did Misato found Sousuke in the specific shinkansen trip? How and why did Suguru Terauchi show Sousuke specifically the Momonga channel?);

2 - Not talked and comes back later, to increase tension( Most recently, Sousuke remembering that Rika had much money, but never thinking about how she acquire it. Most probable future one is, how did she manage to evade capture for so many years with blackmailing on the line, was it her ties to Iwabuchi or something else?);

3 - Offscreen( Shingo's entire monologue never showed us that he "talked" with Sousuke anything regarding Momonga. When Sousuke confronted Iwabuchi, it seems he did).

Other points i said earlier were, pontential:
  • This next arc shows Sousuke's neutral development arc. He already knows how the world around him works, was able to change the people close to him to the better with his innate nature, and is searching for closure in his struggle against Rika. That will be achieved by a confrontantion between the two, regarding their views and choices, morality, happiness and pleasure;
  • There's always a tone of irony in each character so far. Matsuo boasted about his life and wife? Sousuke made Senna pretend she was leaving him easily, and he broke. Shiratori cucked many? Was cucked. Shingo wanted attention from social media( a fake image he created)? The world was show how pitiful his real appearance was, and he broke. Misato believed she was a bad person for what she was doing? Sousuke showed her she was a good person, just forced to do bad things.
The last bullet, at least to me, seems to point a similar fate to Iwabuchi. But what sort of ironic defeat could befall him? Maybe people will lose respect/ fear for him?

Likewise, the dramatic irony with Sousuke is how he was able to change from his character in chapter 01, and how people like Shingo and Iwabuchi seems to underestimate such changes( probably, their image of Sousuke is just the image that Rika passed unto then).

More importantly, the majority of Rika's character is still veiled in mystery, due to her thoughts not being conveyed to the reader, as a major plot reveal for the future. Though, if i pinpointed correctly what her plan for "Ultimate Love" really is...then she already lost, and we're being dragged through chapters showing how much of a mess she was, and how it was "all for nothing"...
What is the image rika could had exactly described them when talking about her husband ?

As per the shadow figure in chapter 1, as well as Iwabuchi in chapter 72, pretty much a straightforward naive person, who sees the world as black and white and hugely holds onto the belief that adultery is bad and "cheaters are sinners that must be punished".

Based on your theory, what does Rika want from Soska? Why doesn't she want to let him go? And what is this plan of "great love" that you mentioned earlier? Please also note that when Rika told Misato about Iwabuchi, she talks about "great love", but when she talks about Soska, it's "true love".

What development of Soska are you talking about? After the interrogation and arrest of Shiratori, he only degraded, with each new arch he behaves even more stupidly, invalently, impulsively and rashly.

As for Iwabuchi's defeat, it's quite obvious. As we know, Rika is the "main breadwinner" for Iwabuchi, so his defeat will be that he will be deprived of this income. Based on the last chapter, the main income comes from the organisation of such parties. Most likely, Rika's role is to provide women with "secret accounts". When their identities and real names are revealed, then Iwabuchi will fall. It can also happen due to the disclosure of directors' names.

I understand that, in one instance, she talked about 最強の愛( Saikyou no ai/ ultimate love), and in another, she talked about 本当の愛 ( Hontou no ai/ ultimate love). Let's assume, for the sake of simplicity and normal flow for the story, that both mean the same thing to her, and this was a story execution change( just like the cell phones, in 4 stances earlier). If not, you can come back to charge me about this. Regardless, both intertwine with "fake love" in the same stance: adoration for one thing/person in at least one stance of those relationship type.
Sousuke:
The mains understanding, before starting any conjecture is "who is Sousuke?". Easy, it's the character we've seen so far in the story, loves his daughter, hates adultery, and currently is after his wife. There's no reason to talk about anything else, right? We've know him from a while. But, considering the story so far, instead of "what does Rika want from Sousuke? Why doesn't she let him go?", the opposite is more food for thought. "What CAN Sousuke offer to Rika? Why not someone else?".

When we think about him, we consider the story so far, and believe the vast majority of events were orchestrated by Rika somehow. That is true from the SD card scenario onwards, but what about before it? Do we have proof that she was the one who put Suguru Terauchi to show Sousuke about Momonga? We really don't.
Moreover, the entire piece does not fit. Why is she doing things that would make people, like Misato and Sousuke, hate her, but then chase for love?

But what if...Just if...

Sousuke wasn't meant to learn about Momonga, or any other business associate of Rika, in the first place? Or at least for now? What this changes is that, Sousuke's Dynamic would remain the same as the start of chapter 1, a person who adores his wife. And the interesting thing is that this ties with the image the shadowy figure and Iwabuchi have of Sousuke. So, i'm assuming that what Rika WANTS is THIS image of Sousuke. It's a possibility for her and to us.

The Ultimate/True Love:

If we abide by this logic, than the scenario make EVEN less sense. OG Sousuke loved his life, daughter and wife. By how he boasted, one could even say that he showed adoration to them. So, what could Rika take from someone like that that could become more powerfull as "love"?

Quite simple...worship.

Ultimate adoration. Quite the recurring theme in NTR and cuckholding. For Sousuke to show her unquestionable, undeniable affection. Specifically: this can only happen after the cuck himself is "broken". Manga like Karami Zakari brings this in better details( the original hentai makes it even worse).

But how can the cuck be "broken"? It's usually by the same method: he see his wife being "taken" by another, "superior man", and powerless, he can only watch. The twist comes into play when the wife addresses that, although she can only feel good with her lover, she can only love her husband/boyfriend( the cuck in question).

Simple enough as well... but how to achieve it with a guy like Sousuke who, as we saw, wanted so much to believe his wife was not guilty, that she was deceived, that he himself was unable to fall into this mindset? There's an extra step, then, otherwise he won't fall. A step to make sure he's in the proper state of mind to follow this "NTR logic".

The extra step...is to make him cheat first.

The plan:

Basically, if he's forced to cheat against his will( let's say drink too much, or something like what Misato did), OG Sousuke would not be able to live with such guilty, and by how he used to think, would probably end his own life out of shame and disgust...

But if Rika appeared to "save" him, to "forgive" him, and to avert the situation by using Shiho as an emotional anchor( considering the possibility that his pride and beliefs far surpasses his love for her, so she couldn't just count on their relationship alone), she could achieve having him forget about ending his life, pass the rest of his life in atonement, and more importantly, see her no short than a saintess who could forgive such a sinner as himself.

Having that in mind, their relationship becomes one of guilt and forgiveness, not love in it's sheer sense. That's why, after this scenario and his head subsides, he must be shown Rika's "other side", things like Momonga channel, for instance. To see that the beautiful saintess he's so much as learned to worship, could be degraded into such a mess by others...he could only accept that if,
  • Rika remind him that he also cheated( there're some people who believe proportionality is less relevant, just the offense is);
  • Have him only be aroused by her figure, so it's "not cheating" for him;
  • Accept that, as a sinner, he cannot ask for her to not hurt him back for his sin...
  • Rika uses the common catchphrase of "as much good as it was, i only love Sousuke-kun".

This breaks him into accepting his defeat and reciprocate as much feelings for her as possible. There's no fear, not even despair coming from him. He accepts he has nowhere else to go, divorce is a distant dream, Rika didn't change except for her business/tastes, and he also wants to give Shiho a decent life for the future. So staying is the way, and his love for Rika is present in all possible forms, as he accepts her for who she is.

The alternative...

Is that she really did force Terauchi to show Sousuke Momonga channel, and the entire story so far has been a way to put him into cheating, subside her deeds( like Momonga) as no more than vocal speculation with no physical proof, succeeding in gaslighting. And if she has proof that he cheated, it becomes easier to trap him.

An important point is that, when we see instances of people( most recently Iwabuchi) saying they're trying to break Sousuke, we always assume they're talking about him seeing Rika, or someone close to him, being degraded so hard that he cannot face reality itself. But there's the chance they're talking about steps before this: they just believe Sousuke is still naively following his old logic of "cheaters must be punished", and are simply trying to see he "cheat", which is for him to break/fall by his own logic.

The Problem:

For every possible scenario involved, Rika must have control over each and every detail. If something faulty, or even unaccounted, happens, things could backfire heavily against her. The scenarios MUST be controlled.
To trap Sousuke with SD card, to make him despair/miss her by disappearing for 3 weeks, to have specifically Misato( his childhood friend) "break" him with adulterous sex, to taunt him with Iwabuchi and the Orgia party. Everything has been guided from her hands, just like a chess board...or hasn't it?

The threat and Fall:

The most basic threat against every possible route on any scenario is, simply, Akiba Megumi.
  • She was on Sousuke's side from, basically, each part of his falling into Rika's world;
  • Without noticing, Sousuke started having an emotional affair with her;
  • After the spa arc, and during his stay in the motorhome, Sousuke missed Akiba. He thought about her when Satsuki came unto him. Most notably, in chapter 79, how openly flirting they're with each other.

So yeah, there's just one possible outcome to all of Rika's plans: failure. Sousuke has already checked out of their relationship and is currently pursuing closure to the entire story between them. This all happened in a "blind spot"from Rika's view, so much that even using the pregnancy to scare Akiba away did not work.

The NTR/cuckholding is only possible now as a break of formal engagement, emotionally, though? It won't work anymore. Rika won't be loved by Sousuke anymore. And the irony is that she herself is not aware of it as much as we, the readers, are.

Do not deny his changes.
  • Subided his absolute belief of "cheaters must be punished" to have Shiratori help him, regardless;
  • After Shiratori, he asked Akiba to accompany him into the happening bar, with Shiratori as a third asset, in a controlled enviroment of sorts to catch Rika( it failed, though);
  • During the spa arc, although losing the SD card, he managed to sprang a trap against Shingo with the help of his allies;
  • He tried secretly recording Iwabuchi( though it failed more due to contents);
  • He asked Akiba, Senna, Yuno and Mitsuri to tag assist Misato during her investigation;
  • Went from believing Rika was a victim, stolen from him, to understanding that she's the perpetrator of the majority of the stances close to him;

It's "quite obvious", until it backfires into something idiotic, like Shingo's wig. We don't know how they'll break Iwabuchi, and that's the main point of what i said. "Losing his main breadwinner" is the followup.

Your theory is good, but it doesn't explain why Rika prevents Soska and Akiba from getting closer. Their rapprochement would contribute to the early fulfilment of Rika's plan. She wouldn't even need to apply a plan with a sd card. Even if Sosuke fell in love with Akiba, he would still feel guilty. As you have already written, Rika's main task is to get Soske to start cheating. At this point, your theory is falling apart. But there is one nuance, if Akiba works for Rika, then your theory will work.

It did. You just failed to grasp the essence: Rika wants Sousuke to cheat, but still be emotionally attached to her. Akiba is driving Sousuke emotionally apart from Rika. Their encounters happens on Rika's blind spots, or places and time she isn't aware( whereas Rika doesn't count Akiba as a potential threat after the pregancy reveal).
Remember: until the spa arc, Rika wasn't fully aware that Sousuke knew of her and Momonga. She just knew there was something between him and Akiba.
That's why Misato was important: she was an asset fully on Rika's control, so the cheating scenario could've been played and easily controlled by her, as opposed to Akiba, who herself is a wild card, and therefore, was dealt a scare( in the form of the pregancy test). Moreover, by the way Iwabuchi addressed Sousuke, Rika's trust on Misato is on the basis that Misato was dealing with OG Sousuke( the one from the start of chapter 1), so there shouldn't be, at the time for Rika's eyes, a possibility that Sousuke could deal such counter to Misato and break the trap he was cast into.

In fact, Akiba is the best option for Rika. If Soske cheated with Akiba, it would be easier for Riki to do it (what you described above). It would be even easier for Rika to make Soska feel double guilty. 1. Guilt for adultery. 2. Guilty for almost ruining Akiba's life (Rika could have told the school council that Akiba seduced Soska). So it's even easier for her to put pressure on Soska's guilt. It doesn't matter if Soska has feelings for Akiba, Rika would have cut them in the embryo. She would put him in front of a choice, either family or Akiba.

The question of when Rika found out that Soske was following her is very controversial. She confirms this in chapter 11, if not earlier. Besides, she's not surprised when Shingo says they're being watched and she already had a plan how to counter it.

Again: Rika DOES NOT want Sousuke to have feelings for other women. That could mine the entire plan.

There's a difference between a physical affair and an emotional one. A physical affair, or even just a "one night stand", does incur in sex, but doesn't mean there's feelings between both at all. An emotional one does not entail sex by itself( at least not as early), but people invested in it generally "check-out"( a slang for "they are not invested into their current marriage/egagement anymore").

Rika wants him to have sex with another woman, not emotionally engage with said woman. Remember Misato? She is his childhood friend. And that was used mainly for her to get close to him, because after their sex video? Forget about staying. Not even ask for forgiveness, OG Sousuke would never believe Rika was such a horrible woman to order a blackmailing sex video. And his logic of "Cheaters must be punished" is a great asset in Rika's favor for that end, sadly.

During vol.5 of the omake( after the happening bar), as much as Sousuke wasn't aware, he was starting an emotional affair with Akiba. There's just so much Rika could've done with a pregnancy threat( with her believing their affair wasn't as much solid as it grew to be). Doing so, would tie Sousuke by obligation, not love.

Chapter 81 dropped. Well, as the day in the west part of the world may differ, may the 4th be with you, Sousuke!
  • Chapter starts with another flashback, with Akito reinforcing the wish to save his sister. Her name is Mabashi Shuri. She was a Gyaru type, but that doesn't mean she's the same now;
  • (In the present) the girl from last chapter continues pestering Sousuke that it's her turn with him. Sousuke begins undressing. Misato blushes and does a "loves me, loves me not" thing with "i want to see, i don't want to see". She's approached by a guy from behind, asking if she's free right now;
  • He says he's been with 3 people, but that's not enough for him. He asks if she's a streamer, but she denies. Misato feels ambushed, but remember Akiba's words about securing an infiltration route, and asks the man to "do it" in a place she can see the outside;
  • The guy hesitates, but then gets fiery when mistaking Misato with "Mikappe", a streamer who's an exhibitionist at night. Misato goes with it and asks to keep it a secret, with the man leaving with her to a place with a window;
  • On Sousuke's side, he keeps fondling the girls boobs from behind. She complains that she's already wet, although men really do like breasts. She turns her face and asks if Sousuke is nervous, with him thinking that he cannot see her belly;
  • He continues by thinking that, if it continues like this, he won't be able to check everyone's belly until tomorrow comes. She asks to stop fondling her and begins intercourse. Understanding that things can't go like this, and he can't go beyond fondling, he explains to her that he can't;
  • He can't get hard with this;
  • She becomes surprised, and he tries to use it to brush her off with saying he can only do it with more people, and he'll give her pocket money he she manages to get him hard( he emphasizes the financial status of the people in the party as his argument);
  • The girl opens her mouth and says to everyone around about this deal( if someone gets him hard, they'll receive money from him). Some women in the room join in and begins trying to make him hard, with the girl asking if he's doubting they'll;
  • She asks if he won't go bankrupt by losing so much money, to which he replies that he was expecting that to happen, but they must follow his rules, to which they comply;
  • Some time later, the girls are defeated as to how he can't get hard and what sort of fetish is that "bellybutton", and he doesn't get hard even when touched;
  • With this, he manages to check every girls bellybutton more efficiently. And while also checking earlier, he still doesn't find Akito's sister. He didn't check the men's belly. Also, he couldn't check 3 women. The top 3 ranked Ura Aka owners;
  • 3rd place: Miyabi, a 4 million yen monthly sales, Choking specialist channel( blond twintailed girl with a choker and frilly dress);
  • 2nd place: Paopao, a 6.1 million yen monthly sales, haunted spot sex channel( chinese dress with a mask);
  • 1st place: Marupi, a 10 million yen monthly sales, Endurance Limit Challenge Channel( long black hair and dress, with thigh high boots);
  • Chapter ends with the 3 girls going for Sousuke and saying that it's their turn, since Iwabuchi had the trouble of creating this setting.

About the may the 4th reference
- I may have failed to identify it, but Paopao's mask reminds of a mix between a gas mask, Darth vaders and some Warhammer design.

Just to clarify, as there seems to be a misunderstanding since I noticed @Mukola9191 getting quite emotional about what I said.

First, the context of the discussion started with the similarities between Makima and Rika that @phoslapis brought up. I was explaining there that the difference between Chainsaw Man and Aisai no Ura Aka lies in how the authors deliver the story. Aisai no Ura Aka doesn't really care about how a certain event happens. For example, whether Sousuke finding Rika's account was a coincidence or not, or when Misato met Sousuke on the Shinkansen. these were never elaborated on further by the author. Then @Mukola9191 just jumped in, shoving his theory about Rika using a camera and blah blah blah like that has been officially told in the story and just like try to correction me with his head canon. Honestly, the bottom line is that I don't really like it when someone making theory to clarirfy someone like this. Just treat a theory as just theory itself, dont force people to accept your theory or your headcanon.

That is why I then clarified by replying to @Mukola9191 's argument: the plot holes in Aisai no Ura Aka would only become major clues if the author actually brought them in the story. So, theories regarding them shouldn't just be forced to other people like that. For example, whether Sousuke finding Rika's account was a coincidence or not would be a major clue to Rika's actual goal (because if A happened, it might lead to one thing, or if B happened, it would lead to another), and the same applies to other plot holes. In here i wasn't trying to theorize, so I wasn't trying to argue against your theory from begining. I just wanted you to see the reality that, fundamentally, these things were never explained in the story.

Furthermore, I don't care whether you wants to side with Rika being good or bad. I really don't care. Because from the very beginning, the discussion was solely about comparing the writing styles of Chainsaw Man and Aisai no Ura Aka. Not talking about theories. Just it.

We've been dealt with some similar designs in the past( like, during the spa arc, the boy in Sousuke's arms really could be seen as his son, for how much they looked like). But still, the twintail girl...i think it's not the case. Paopao might be, she's also my top 1 candidate for Shuri.

But Maruppi being Kanebayashi makes sense. I also compared their hairstyles, and it matches too well.

If that's the case, we have a more interesting scenario: that there isn't, mainly, an "awesome lawyer" in Iwabuchi's pocket, he simply rigs defense and prosecution in his favor, by putting Kanebayashi and another one to work for him.

Thank you, sir. Haven’t said it in a while. I love your detailed synopsises. I avoid getting emotionally triggered this way than if I actually read the manga myself. So thanks for doing the filtering.

The mangaka is making this story too long and it has lost much of its edge. It's not even clear why the heck Sousuke is chasing Rika. He has a daughter to raise and for all intends and purposes his relationship is dead. Closure is fine and dandy, but why would he pursue it? If the issue is the possibility that Rika is pregnant with his child, going to the Police would be more logical than all these events from the latest chapters.

Also, why are peeps applying ntr/hentai logic to the story? There isn't none. Even the most NTR situation right at the beginning solved itself when the teacher lost his influence: the mothers wanted to skin him alive for not being able to fulfil his promise of giving their kids an advantage in admission.

And, I will bet some hard cash that the confrontation most peeps are still reading this for, will be a whole handful of nothing. Rika will say something vague but deep sounding and leave them all behind...
