as someone with clinically proven adhd I usually just read the manga or Ln it's based on or pause and do something else when I momentarily lose interest (it usually comes back after 10m-2h), in fact I haven't watched anime in a few months

Once I started listening to things (nightcore music, slow lectures) sped up a bit you get used to it. After the initial hump you are able to just keep going until you hit what is comfortable to your ear. I ended up at around 2.25, so coming back off of that 2x sounds pretty normal. 1.75 if I feel like relaxing or have to read subtitles.
